Fish Tank Room

Oh ok now I understand better. If you ever need more cfm and have 120volts look into a bathroom vent fan. They move a lot of air and can be had for less than $20.00 on sale. Keep up the good work, looking good!

Good to know thx... with a little under 400 gallons of total water the more the better... lol

Nice! I bought a step or two down. Came with everything but the extra filters. But I'm thinking of getting the 150gpd upgrade. And possibly the extra filters in the future. Definitely need a float switch I'm afraid I'm gonna forget it's on one day! That one was $200 right? Mine was $140 but because they offer free shipping over 175 I could have gotten that one for only $40 more. Oh well!

Thx, that one sold for $270.

Sent from Tapatalk.

Mounted and each filter flush independently, that was a pain!

Small setback this weekend, the pvc on the mixing station RO/DI container had to be removed and reworked due to a very small drip, but a drip none the less... fixed and operational... OCD is getting the better of me!

I hope that powerhead idea in your sump works out for you.
I had a heck of a time keeping detritus from settling in my 150g rubbermaid.
I tried something similar along the very bottom of mine and it didn't seem to help much.
Did an annual cleaning where I'd completely empty the sump, shop vac it, and then refill.
My phosphate readings would go from .08 to zero. lol

I was just at City Pets this weekend. :)
They are definitely the cheapest in town for dry goods.
New owners too, so we'll see how things progress.

Thanks Dennis!!

I'm going to rethink that design a little for the sump... Maybe add two additional cross flow PVC piece lower at the bottom pushing in opposing directions with a full mat of raised black egg crate just over it. Worse case I'll be doing a annual cleaning, fun!

Again, Thx!

Nice build! I think I might have to look in to those water storage tanks as well, I'm doing a fish room build right now and was just planning on using the brutes but after seeing how much less space those seem to eat up I think that is the way to go! And I've seen them plumbed together and the mixing/delivery pumps in a few builds too, so thinking I'll have to incorporate that in to my build too. I converted one of the bedrooms in to my fish room, but I also want to keep room in there to make it my office as well, so trying to keep sump/refugium under the tank stand and water storage in the closet, and want to have room for a counter/workbench area, but also hoping to build a shelf for QT tanks... going to be a busy room so looking up all the other big builds for ideas =)

Thank you! @rininger85...

Have to admit, I did the same thing. I lurked around the forums for a bit getting ideas from others before designing this whole thing... Made a few mistakes along the way but that's how we learn right!

want to have room for a counter/workbench area
Stay tuned, I have a plan on this one, has to do with using up all the dead space, but will be "ghosted" in so as not to be seen all the time.

Again, Thank you!

Code Name: Blue Fish

Had a chat last night, with the sales rep for the controller I'll be using... Very nice to know that in this day and age we have manufactures willing to take time out of their busy day to answer all the "silly little questions" one has and aid you in the setup and design of controllers layout and all options.

Give ya a hint... it's a blue fish.
