I have 2 corals that are dying a jack o lantern and a monti which started going downhill when I introduced the angel...my monti is turning brown and the other one which he picks at the most is turning white and dying...I’m wondering if he’s just picking at them because they are dying possibly? Such a beautiful fish I’d hate to take him out

I’ve had these 2 corals for years ...now they are dying please help I really don’t wanna lose them

Recommend you get a fish trap and catch flame angle ASAP. Then monitor corals as the fish sits in timeout.
I’m guessing it has to be him right ? I’m gonna check my parameters today but like I said I’ve had these 2 corals for years and they’ve grown huge now all the sudden they are dying

I had one. Some say the never have a problem with them, others say they are evil. I never saw it bothering any corals but my lfs kept telling me it could be doing it at night. I was l losing acans and a lobo. I finally got a trap and got him out. Corals started to recover immediatly! He went back to the lfs.

I have two in two different tanks and they bother absolutely nothing. Thats wierd.

Oof that's why I'm not getting one unless it's from someone who kept the angel in a mostly lps and softies tank or something

I’ve had flames in my reef tanks for over 35 years, never a problem. I’ve heard some people say that they are just picking on corals that already have some dying tissue.
I can see that because that coral is definitely dying. But he does nip at random corals maybe just the algae on them I’ll know more when I test in the am but I’m sure it’s ok

Got my water tested at a lfs and the guy said everything was fine salinity 1.024 he said the only thing is magnesium and calcium is a tad low but it’s still in acceptable range ...he said to keep doing what I’m doing Idk why my corals are dying I’m confident it’s the flame angel gonna hook him today

I had flames, and african flame backs. While I never saw them nip, I'm sure they gave a "swim by" nipping from time to time.

I recently moved my tank and rehomed my current flame back. Never had much PE on my SPS, now I have PE for days. Only thing that changed was getting rid of the flame back that I never saw nip.

Him eating it...I swear this hobby is insanely stressful sadly I’m thinking about quitting
