Flame angel or coral beauty safe?

I’m interested in getting a flame, porters, or coral beauty for my 45 gallon reef tank but am concerned about their “nipping” at corals as I’d rather have a tank full of healthy corals then an angel. Current coral list is
Bicolor hammer
Neon frogspawn
16 different types of zoas
Acropora
Lepto
Duncan
Gsp
RBTA
Chalice
The only fish in the tank as of now are a clownfish and a diamond goby. I’m going to get a fairy or flasher wrasse eventually. Is the angel safe?

Potters has the safest reputation of those you list. but any with caution fish may come down to do I want to remove this coral or remove this fish.

I have a venusta in with all the corals you list, except a bubble tip, and have no issues. YRMV

@OrionN - you are pretty solid informed on the flame angles. What is your take on the 45 gallon tank and coral list? Or do you have any other info with regards to pygmy angels that may fit their tank?

Background. Op is looking for some information on stocking a tang like fish in the 45. We all know about size vs. tangs but in this case the discussion is to see what may work for a nice showpiece fish.

It's a risk, up to you if you're ok losing something and having to get the fish out. Lots of posts out there saying a dwarf angel is no problem for a while, then it's like a switch flips and they start eating coral.

That’s what my buddy who owns a lfs said. He dropped a flame angel in his 250 10 years ago and it was fine up to two years ago when it ate all the corals in the tank that had soft tissue, including his prized acans. He couldn’t get the fish out so it’s an sps dominant tank now

Sounds like you know the risks then, now to decide if they are worth taking

Zoas tend to be a favorite of most with caution fish. Euphyllia tends to be safe but every once in awhile that doesn't hold true. Chalices are pretty high on the list to be picked at.

I believe that my Dwarf Flame Back is the reason the polyps dont come out on my SPS.

I have SPS, Clams, FrogSpawn, Elegance, all the anemones, Some soft coral, like Kenya tree, Toad stool. I don't have nay of the fleshy LPS.
I cannot keep any Xenia, the angels and some other fish eat it. I think if you have fleshy LPS, they are likely will get pick on.
SPS PE is less during the day due to fish bother it, but they still grow like crazy.

All of the angels I mentioned above are of the smallest dwarf angels. You have a frogspawn, do they bother that? The lps in my tank are mostly euphyllia.

They do not bother the Frogspawn. I also have Dragon soul Flavia and they do not bother the Flavia either

Of the Dwarf Angels some are smaller than other. Likely a Cherub, yellow tail Pygmy, Flameback or Fireball are OK in a smaller, 45 gal plus reef tank.

Having 2 flame angels in two different tanks...… They bother nothing and are very peaceful not to mention that Bright red coloration.
