Can someone tell what that is on my Flame’s back? It is the same spot/discoloration on each side. Should I be worried!

Yes. Sorry. I’ll try to get a better picture. It’s a spot on its dorsal fin. It shows all the way through

Spots could be fine, but a hole might represent an injury - could be old, might be new...

How long have you had the fish? What else is in the tank (and what size is it)?

I have had him for a little over 2 months. The other fish in my system are:
-2 clowns
-bangaii cardinal
-ywg&pistol shrimp
-coral beauty(introduced at same time a flame angel. Haven’t noticed any aggression between the two really. Also have a bta along with a rock nem and mainly euphylias

Strange, cannot tell much from the photos other than the fact that this is a very thin looking fish. Is it eating?

That spot _might_ be a bacterial infection ... or might be an injury of some sort. (My own flame is constantly crashing into things ... usually because he's chasing smaller fish into holes and crevices.) Keep an eye on it - if it worsens, consider pulling him out for antibiotic treatment in a quarantine setup.

As the others have said, it's hard to tell much from the pictures. Keep an eye on the two angels and make sure he's eating and try to fatten him up.

He’s a pig actually haha. I feed lrs reef frenzy daily and some pellets rotated with flakes in the morning.

Do you guys think I should be feeding more then? Thanks for all of the feedback!

The best way to tell for disease is the fins bc they are clear it makes it easy to see the parasites and they fins are where the parasites like to latch on to first on his body it looks more like bumps from crashing into walls most flames do this if you buy a cleaner wrasse it should take care of it but if it isn't ich then the cleaner is just a good idea anyways bc of emergency problems if ich does occur again also maybe suggest to get a cleaner shrimp they work too! How big is your tank? This could also be a territorial thing between flame and coral beauty! Do you happen to feed them any brine shrimp? What are your test levels of ammonia nitrite nitrate ph phosphate magnesium etc.

It could just be a simple thing but we need to k ow these things to determine anything based off of evidence

My tank is 65 gallon, I have never noticed aggression between the two, but I have seen my Flame go into some tight spaces within the LR. I have a cleaner shrimp and have witnessed it cleaning my Coral Beauty (Which I find really cool!). I haven't checked my params in a couple days but the Ammonia was 0 along with Nitrites, and the Nitrates were very low, I believe under 20ppm. PH was 8.2 but I haven't checked Mag or Phosphates. He seems to be acting great which leads me to beleive that it may be just a bump or something of the sort but i dont want to assume

What is a good cleaner wrasse that is reef safe?

neon goby

But why are you asking? Cleaner fish aren't a cure-all and introducing a new fish while there is potential pathogens already in the tank is generally a bad idea...

Dude my coral beauty loves to be cleaned by the cleaner shrimp too and if you already have a cleaner shrimp then it's probably not ich more likely a numb especially when you said he's acting normal if his fins begin to have white spots then start to worry about ich flames usually have the bumps it's normal so overall your chemicals all seem balanced well and you just need to keep an eye on him if anything happens post it is this happening to any of the other fish though

I completely understand that stretch but I’m not looking at that as a solution just a fiture prevention step.
