flaming mohican vs krakatoa

How often do u guys( tunabullet & duke) stare at it in your tank? I find myself just looking at pics of it for days. I might just print a pic of it out and scotch tap it to my glass or rock somewhere in the tank. Ooo I got an idea!! We can make look alikes out of plastic or rubber like fake corals and sell them! Just like those fake aquarium plants. I'm in for one lol..

all the time......i dont even let the hermits and snails get close to them...lol...when you walk by it jumps out at you because its the brightest in the tank....

LOL.... tunabullets has a loaded 200 gallon show tank....You can stare at his tank for hours and hours and keep finding new stuff in there.. I must say the Kraks do stand out with everything in there....... My tank is just a little 34 gallon.... You can see everything a lot easier...LOL... My larger colony has been closed for the past two weeks so i prefer only too look at the tank once a day while I am doing maintenance and to see its progress.... Pretty nerve racking

Ill tell you what duke, it's that randomness that ive spent many of sorrowful nights over that have now turned into a "meh". If someone locally trades with me, I usually give everything that I have in hopes that one day they would reciprocate if anything were to ever happen.

Quick question... take the green ring away from the krakatoa and insert the perpetual gold.... what paly do you have?

Yea I know.... It's funny how it works.... Rudy at GB must be a happy camper right now..... Good for him... He has something that the people want and like you said the starting bid is at $95 so he is not being greedy and starting it at $500 like some others would do.... The crazy thing is that hobbyist are setting the cost on these polyps.... It seems like supply and demand are driving the cost up.... This is an epic thread and I have never seen anything like this. It is why I think people are thinking it is worth getting one just out of curiosity to see why there are almost 900 posts in this thread alone for the Krakatoas...

Yeah GB got lucky with the krak just like every other vendor/reefer who want that one that everyone wants! It's nice they did start $95 so everyone has a chance to bid.
It took me 2yrs before I got the bowser to where I could afford one and see one in my tank. I figure the longer the krak is around the hardier they
become over the year/years so we know how to take care of it SO when I do get one it would be less likely to melt on me. It's funny how some people get stuck on
how people are making money and not on the coral itself.

You gonna dip duke? Or just wait and see what happens?

I have dipped, i have even went to extent of getting a new skimmer, excessive water changes, testing...You name it, I have done it... I just don't know what it is.... The only difference that I moved them 2in from where they were and that is when they closed up.... I don't know if that particular colony is sensitive to light... I just moved it back to where it was and the polyps look like they are starting to open.... I guess we will have to see what happens

Yeah, it will be a sad day in reefing history.... your melting could cause an extra 6-12 months of delay til they explode on the market...
