Yea I know.... It's funny how it works.... Rudy at GB must be a happy camper right now..... Good for him... He has something that the people want and like you said the starting bid is at $95 so he is not being greedy and starting it at $500 like some others would do.... The crazy thing is that hobbyist are setting the cost on these polyps.... It seems like supply and demand are driving the cost up.... This is an epic thread and I have never seen anything like this. It is why I think people are thinking it is worth getting one just out of curiosity to see why there are almost 900 posts in this thread alone for the Krakatoas...

If you have 5 people in this thread bidding it up for "fun" then there is probably just one or two people out of those 19 bids getting taken. You can argue all you like about people paying what they think it is worth, but at the end of the day it is an auction and it shouldn't translate to retail pricing. But for you guys that ONLY paid $500 pet polyp, congrats, now they are worth a few hundred more so you will actually be making money from selling one polyp. It's like the stock market

I really hope there is no one bidding it up for fun.... If someone is, it is just showing bad character on their part.... If someone is doing that and thinks it is funny to put the krakatoa further out reach from other hobbyist than it already is or jumping the price up over $1k to make someone over pay then that is just plain ****** up...Funny how you say that about the stock market... Lol.. I was just talking to a buddy today about these and those were my exact words.... I must say this is the first time I have ever seen a coral appreciate in value... Normally the first polyp is always the highest then price starts to drop from there but this one is going backwards and rising in price... Pretty nuts!!!

This is why I dnt see myself finding or getting ahold of one anytime soon. I've come to understand this the past month after relentless effort asking people and found out how annoying I saw myself, its too out of reach for a guy in a small town up north. But if Rudy from gb is trying to make it far by putting these up on eBay so everyone has a chance (likeme) and people are bidding up for fun I can see him just not releasing them anymore, and giving us all a big ****off. Just my thoughts (had a crappy day at work)

This thread rocks i am lucky enough to have picked up some Kraks in the last month...one from a vendor and two from my nieghbor...i bought them for my collection not to sell them.. but i will frag em and sell a couple to recoup what i have spent.....not at a crazy inflated price....they grow fast so there will be plenty to go around before you know it...i have bought 4 emperors and 3 have melted on me...i have tons of zoas and to loose three is kind of crazy.... gb is not running up pricing...we are....the closest looking zoa to the krakatoa is the flaming mohican....which some of the first emperor looked like...imo....

Rudy sounds like a straight shooter to me..... When I won mine, I received a call from him telling me congratulations and talked to me about the shipping and gave me the history run down on the Krakatoa... Very cool to get a call from an ebay auction.... I hear that his system is measured by the foot not gallons. So it is freaking huge....LOL... The krakatoa is just one little thing in his system..He always has plenty of goodies in his auctions that go for good money... I wouldn't think that he would need drive up the auction himself with everything else he has.....
