Ok guys wish me luck. After doing about 10 water changes all last week I suck out as many planarias I could and today decided to dose the tank with FWE and I'm kinda freaking out. 10 min after I dose the tank flat worms just started floating everywere so I started the carbon and about 20 min into it man I had thousands and thousand a of them all over floating. Well I notice all my corals were close and sliming and my clam is also closed so I'm freakjng out that I might loose a lot of corals. I just a got done doing a water change cause I had to suck out all the dead one on the bottom. So far my fish shrimp and snails remain unaffected but I do see a few pods dead so we will see.

Yea I was kinda scare to use it but man planaria if you leave it alone they reproduce fast and your tank turn completely brown when the lights are on cause they get all over the rocks for the lights. It's crazy so I had to do it.

Luis,

The FWE is pretty safe. The prob is when the planarias start to dye they release toxins. These toxins are what will do the harm. It is important to siphon as many out as possible while they are first starting to die.

WOW, thats crazy about the flatworms.... are these AEFW or just planaria?what do they feed on?

well at least they dont eat your pretties. I battled the AEFW and Ill never do that again.

I did siphon most of them. I got a few more. I'm currently waiting on the water to get done so I can do an other water change.

When a flat worm dies it releases a toxin that becomes even worse with high phosphates... If your phos was even a little high it can cause big problems.
