Flushing from the overflow

Yup, makes sense. An inch or two under water level is all you need. Many people leave it above the water level, which causes a lil noise and splashing, but not the end of the world
I figured I would cut it down to an inch or two below the water line to cross that off the list. The. Adjust the flow so we are good and stable. Hopefully I can get that equalibrium.

Same thing was happening to mine and it was fixed by reducing the flow speed of sump return pump... there was too much flow from sump to DT causing the flushing effect. oh and don't bother w cutting the drain pipe length in sump, it didn't help on my tank.

So cut the pipe and that did help some. Then I started playing with the pump and was able to settle it down quite a bit. Still isn’t perfect, but it’s better. Might try to make some more adjustments to get it perfect.
