Regarding the use of Flux RX, I see nothing on the packaging and MFG's website regarding water changes while using this product. Would love to know what the community knows.

I've done water changes while using it. I just add some to the new water I'm putting in(it really takes a lot to overdose it). In most cases for me it takes about 4 weeks of treatment to kill GHA, but that doesn't kill the roots of the GHA algae. After knocking the GHA down with Flux RX I've real come to love urchins and turbo snails to keep it down.

I can't find anything on the documentation, I ended up reaching out to them and I received this answer:

Thanks for your message. Water change after 14 days. The patient has the result of the product you will only see towards the last few days. Let me know if you have any more questions

Eric Cohen

Our numbers look really good right now, which is a pity. I think we're going to do a large water change in the next day or so, dose, then try to let it sit for 14 days without a water change unless we notice a problem with the NoPo.

That is what I do. I do a normal water change right before I dose, then wait out the 14 days and water change again.

Good luck.

Flux RX can be removed with carbon (I recommend 10 grams carbon per gram Flux RX). You can still do water changes to lower other nutrients such as nitrate, but a 20% water change will only remove 20% of Flux RX, whereas treatment with activated carbon will remove 100%.

Can anyone take a pic of the directions on the back of the Reef RX box. Amazon has a sticker on the back of my box which I can’t remove.

I have used this product a few times with great success. Because some algae seem to need extended treatment (upwards of a couple months), and because the algae dying can cause nutrient spikes, water changes during this time are inevitable. What I’ve found that works is redosing the percentage of the original dose relative to the percentage of the water change. So for example, if you originally dosed 800mg, and do a 25% water change, you’ll redose 200mg after the water change. I’ve found that for GHA and some of the more stubborn types of algae (cladophora, turf algae, etc), raising the dose slightly can be helpful (I’ve not experienced any side effects from doing so), I’ve not gone over a 50% increase in the recommended dose (which is 20mg per gallon, the most I’ve done is 30mg per gallon), but I would recommend starting at the recommended dose, and if after a couple weeks you’re not seeing any progress, you can try upping the dosage. I would recommend removing any carbon or purigen like products, and turning off/removing your skimmer cup for the first three days after dosing/residing. When dosing, I recommend putting a cup or two of tank water in a sealable container, put the dose in, and then shake it for a couple minutes. Trying to stir it, or dosing directly to the tank doesn’t seem to dissolve it as well (even shaking it, there will be indissolved pieces). Be prepared to run the treatment for up to 2-3 months, bryopsis usually takes a week or two, but some algae are more resistant and can take much longer. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Here’s the directions on the bottle (the font is really small, this is as focused as I could get it)

Amazon covered the back of mine too but was able to get the sticker off.
I don’t know if mine will be covered but I’m suppose to get my Flux Rx from Amazon in the mail today so if it is I will use your directions. Thanks for posting the picture.
