FluxRX not beating my GHA, second dose?

I am betting that’s a similar/same product as Microbacter Clean. Good to hear it worked for you as well.

Yeah I’m going to try a microbacter clean regiment and continue to manually remove as much as I can

I've been dealing with the same thing for almost two years after rescaping with dry rock. Flux then cyano then chemiclean then more gha. I ended up stopping all of the treatment because it just felt like a roller coaster ride. I started dosing bacto balance daily along with microbacter7 and zeobac twice weekly. Been doing that for a few months and the gha seems to be slowly dying off. I am able to vaccum a lot of it now without having to scrub. I'm just rolling with this for now and doing small daily or every other day water changes vacuuming algae each time. It sucks but I don't see any other option for me. A restart would just be the same over again I'm afraid. Oh I did do a rip clean once too but that was just temperary.
The tops of this branching rock were covered with GHA but now are staying clear.

This is some of what I'm still working on.

Mine was staying at bay with bacto balance dosing as well but I had high nutrients and then something flipped and all the sudden was low nutrients so I backed off dosing. I think I need to try bringing back the carbon dosing and pushing nutrients a bit higher dosing some N and P.

Today is day 19 running FluxRX and there is no change to my green hair algae. I dosed 5 large scoops into my 143g system. What’s the protocol for adding a second dose? Should I do a water change first and then add it? Should I just add more on top of it? I have spent a collective 3 hours manually pulling this algae from my tank and scrubbing rocks over the past 2 weeks..

I have reduced feeding, reduced photoperiod, adjusted spectrum to eliminate red and green and reduce whites…I need help here.
I have used Flux Rx with great results on two occasions in the first 6 months of my tank. I used 5x the dosage per my LFS recommendation. Turned off the skimmer and bypassed the roller filter for about 4 days. Also turned off the UV and ozone for about 4 days. About two weeks I started to see the effects and GHA releasing in 3 to 4 weeks. It did eventually also kill the chaeto in the refugium. .

This is exactly where I am at. I stopped the BB when nutrients dropped when in fact I think I should have dosed N and P instead. This is what I'm doing now but I haven't had to dose P. P has become pretty consistent but N is a roller coaster. I've decided to follow this path and dose N and P as needed and just ride it out.

So I have a 130g give or take system….i put 6 large scoops last time. Your LFS recommended five times that dosage?

I’ve used a Sea hare several times with complete success. My tanks in the front of my house with lots of windows. Sea hare eats it all then I return it to the lfs when it’s gone. $20 well spent! I should also mention that I went the turf scrubber route as well and it was amazing for lowering natrate (almost too good) but did nothing for my gha problem.

I think the product I mentioned is very similar to Brightwell Razor.

Continuum also have a Bacter Clean M, but that did not help with GHA. The Equation Clean M is the one that worked.

No way for me to tell, as the for some reason the Brightwell products are not permitted here, but the Continuum products are allowed.

FWIW, I'm suspicious of the no algaecide claim on the label for both products.

So I'm in a similar situation. Did an initial dose of Flux RX w/ regular manual removal. Then water change after 2 weeks. It did a really great job of loosening the GHA and suppressing it for a little bit but now it's coming back. I'm going to do another treatment with the Flux RX w/ a WC at 3 weeks, followed by another dose with water change again at 3 weeks. I did turn off white lights too. Hopefully this will eradicate it.
