We coated the inside of the stand with epoxy, like they use on bar tops.
Very high polish, looks wet so its a little deceiving when checking for drips... Put a clear plastic chair mat down under the stand to protect wood floors. I can get pretty splashy. Got it at office depot. Ordered branch rock from BRS. Love it! Made a cool arch. Going with a fairly minimal scape. Had some plumbing issues, had to redo bulkheads. Someone told us to put the rubber ring on the underside of the tank... So should have all the new parts today to finish plumbing. I put water in the tank up to the overflow line to start cycling. Added 2 power heads and heater. 60 lbs of oolite and 30 lbs puka substrate.

Made a system for our new RODI. Makes RO drinking water too. Tastes great and Im super picky about water.

Now trying to decide on lighting.
The tank is is 24" deep. It has a canopy. I have an outer orbit fixture with 2 MH, 4 HO T5s, and lunar LEDs. But cant put it in the canopy due to heat. I have an old 1/10 chiller hooked up. I will have LPS, clam, zoas, etc. Nothing too hard to keep. I like the idea of controlling the lights, I have a MAC though. But have a old PC laptop too. What do recommend as far as new LEDs and or combining them with T5s. Or if I use my fixture for now what T5 combos are best for it? it is 2 T5s, 2 MH in the center, and 2 T5s. I love the hydra, but it is out of our budget. It would be cool to pair it with a couple T5s in the canopy though!!!

How do you like the tank and stand? Did you order a specific color of stand?

The stand I ordered was dark cherry. They have some great colors to choose from. Really love the workmanship. Seems great so far. Testing plumbing today!

Results of the plumbing test.
Bulkhead for the drain still has a slow leak...

Return pump- Deep Blue Titan 5 is very loud- too loud for me to accept.

Skimmer may not be adjusted properly. Lots of bubbles outside in sump compartment. Need to set properly and maybe put filter sponge to capture microbubbles. Not sure what the height of the skimmer should be.

With the return pump going full power to the 2 tank return lines the drain cannot keep up. I had added a T with a relief ball valve but it really lessens the flow into the tank.

Traded the pump for a Titan 4. Still noisy but tolerable for now since I really want the tank going. Fixed the dripping bulkhead with a little Teflon tape.
Turned off skimmer, UV, and took off filter sock. Added 100 drops of dr. Tim's ammonia and one n only. Starting ammonia (fish less) cycling. Hope there's no leaks! I'm goin to bed!
Oh, considering hydras absolutely love the reviews and spectrum they give especially when two are used. What a blast to have a storm or sunset for a tank! Very cool. Would have to save a while for them.

Not sure on that. I can try to measure it out next time. My ammonia is .50 ppm today. I added 25 more drops but will need more based on this.

If anyone is interested I am selling my Current Outer Orbit 36" light. It is really awesome but hubby wants to use canopy. It has 4 T5s, 2 MH, 18 LEDs (9 blue lunar, 9 white). The lights are all on separate timers/cords. I have 2 MH bulbs and 2 T5s ( ATI blue plus and another one). Not sure how old the bulbs are. I have had the light under a bed in our spare bedroom. It is in perfect condition and works great. I had only used it about a year. It has built in fans that go on automatically with the MH. I have the feet to set it on your tank directly and the complete hanging kit.

Can you take a photo of your canopy with it open and shut?

Will do! Can upload in the morning! It looks nice with the canopy. No more drips! cycling away. Ordered T5 reflectors, external ballast and 2 ATI bulbs(1 blue +,1 coral +) going to add LEDs in the center. I have a 24" LED cheapie I can use for starters. I also ordered 2 4" fans. One for canopy and one for sump. Return pump still noisy.

A side note: it was actually snowing/sleet here tonight. It was 70 today. Wild. Good thing the guys fixed our heater today!
