No exactly as you said. I have done several foam walls over the years and have had zero problems. Excellent write up

Did you seal the wall with epoxy or similar?

Ever have any issues with foam degradation in very high light areas?

What foam brand have you tried??

I would think so. The only issue I can see is getting it in place without it floating away.

Maybe if you incorporate a magnet into the back of the wall and one on the outside of the glass?
Or a big glob a super glue on the back and hold it till it stays. Lol

With any foam or chemicals you used, there is absolutely nothing that can leech out? Completely reef safe? Job well done!

Everything is reef safe once it is all cured. No leaching!

I would let the wall air dry for a few days once your finished and again after siliconing the wall in. Just to make sure it has completely cured.

I used Hagen pond foamin this tank and lately I have used great stuf pond foam. I used west system epoxy to cover the foam and then sand sprinkled in the epoxy. 10 years later and I have had 0 issues with the wall. No decomposing nothing. Crappy pic but here it is today

Not entirely sure, but I was more referring to keeping it flush against the glass and staying in place. And not falling over if it doesn't float.
Unless it's so tight it won't move on its own. Just wedge it in there.

Oh gotcha if I made it tall enough I could have the top edge of it out of the water then run silicone or super glue around the top do you think that'd be enough to keep it in place

Question. I have been thinking about doing something like this also. I have an acrylic take tho. I have been told that silicon would not adhere to acrylic. any suggestions for sealing the edges.

Silicone does NOT bond well to acrylic, but you can get away with using it in non-load bearing situations such as this.
