So I got a small (2-3") foxface from lfs. Fish is healthy and rambunctious. However it is "picking " at my wwc rainbow micomussa, a different micromussa, and now a large wellso coral I just got. It's not non stop but enough to make the micromussas look not so well and be closed half the day. I feed it pretty well. Gets missus shrimp with lfs twice and hammers Nori 2x a day as well. Will this behavior go away?? Doesn't seem to bother my zoas, mushrooms, hammers, or any other LPS or sps.

That's odd. Is there something on or nearby that looks as if he's eatin it?

This is one of the mussas he's picking at. About to put a fish hook in there and get him out if he doesn't knock it off.

You can find small plastic strainers like that at Wallys and use something like pipe insulation to wrap around the top ring of the strainer to make it float.

Anchor the strainer so that it's not directly under the light and point some flow at it.

If it has injuries or damage you might want to do a dip in a solution and rinse.

The botanicals help with bacteria as well. I'd do it to prevent infection.

I've never seen one pick at anything other than algae. So, perhaps with them being in seclusion might make him forget?

He doesn't bother my lobos either. Just added the wellso 3 days ago. It's 10" across and he took a couple swipes at that this morning when I was watching.
