this is how far I got with the sump so far. I have the trim the baffles for water flow access. I went 10 1/2" on the baffles an will raise the skimmer as needed. idk what depth the skimmer should be at. it never stated in the books it came with or online info either. bubble magus has not got back to me either. trial an error I guess.

I'm in between if I want to chato or rock / bio media in the first chamber. I'm kind of leaning towards chato. what are your thoughts an why?

as for equipment I have 98% of it already as I have been thinking of this build for a while now.
50gal low boy frag tank
40gal breeder diy sump
x2 ecotech radion lights
ecotech M1 vectra return pump
Bubble Magus BM100SE limited edition skimmer.
I'm yet to get a refugium light
Get the H380 by Kessil for your fuge light. You will not be disappointing!!

You’ve confirmed the bottom isn’t tempered? Because that would suck!

I would double check any low boy you get. I have a buddy who bought a few low boys and 1 was tempered and the others were not. SO just double check before you drill!

Why not add Marine Pure plates on the bottom and then chaeto on top? its more efficient that rocks. In my fuge I have 1 box of Marine Pure spheres and chaeto on top.

Are you going to cut the grates in the acrylic so it goes over the sink change into just the refugium section? Then is the acrylic between the refugium and the return section higher than between the skimmer and return so water will only go from refugium into skimmer section. Then the acrylic between skimmer and return a little lower than acrylic between refugium and skimmer? Any of that make sense? So you're really directing the water through one path through the entire sump.

I'm still working out the fine tunes of how I'm going to run the chambers. I may even add another baffle in the overflow chamber yet depending how an what I put in it. yes it does make sense to me what your saying, I understand. I have a busy weekend. I'm hoping to map out exactly what I want to do an maybe get a little work done on it.

I had a very busy weekend as I thought I would. With my 13 yrs olds Bday party. so I got no physical work done. I did order some silicon. Black silicon. since I'm using black baffles. I hope it will give it a nice finish touch. I'm all about clean lines. as long as I don' rush myself I should get the results I'm in search of.

I got the black silicone in the other night. I went with Aquascape pro black silicone. there are others I used in the past. this stuff is easy to work with an under $10 shipped. I could of went with some stronger stuff but I'm only glueing the baffles in.

I got my diamond tippe hole bits in today. these are entry level type. ordered off a Amazon. I was first looking at just the 45mm an the 35mm. same entry level type. for $15.+. I found a 12pc set for $11-12. so I gave it a shot. I will only use them for about 2 cuts. as I done with my others as well. we will see how it goes. I used just about the same in the past.

Those things will work just fine . My last bit cost 4 bucks and I’ve done 6 holes in a 125 and a couple 29’s with it

got in some overflow screens. x2 1" today. I can now get to work on my overflow set up. I am still in between on what style I want to run. I do know I want to have 2 1" drains. 3/4" return. all in the overflow chamber. so room is a concern at the moment. I don' have to run the return in the chamber but I'd like to. so I have a few styles to choose from. I'll post pics an measurements to get your thoughts
