Frag tank update

I do not have this exact tank, but I do have a JBJ 30 AIO, the overflows look very similar and what I did to avoid this issue, was to cut a small 1" x 4" (or whatever width the overflow on this system is) piece of 1/8" acrylic (home depot / lowe's, etc.). I then glued it at an angle on the back side of the overflow, so the water doesn't go straight down after entering the weir. Now my water flow pours down the acrylic into the center of the media box. I use 2 pieces of filterpad, the bottom one is the size of my media tray, roughly 4" x 4" and then I cut a 3" x 3" and center on top of the 4" x 4". This buys me a week or two, usually two, before I need to discard / replace it. It doesn't clog or cause issues with my ATO, so you might give it a try.

Thanks I will have to give this a try I really appreciate the help!

Took a quick iPhone pic to show you, also, forgot to add that I remove the 3" x 3" piece first and leave the 4" x 4" piece in there for a few more days. Works like a charm.
