So sad, I have a Fluval 13.5, had 2 clowns and a damsel for about 8 years ++ One clown died, a month later the other one and then the damsel later that year. I got 2 clowns, little ones, they both died within a week, got 2 more, 1 died within 2 weeks. Since I only had one left I decided to get Jack another Jill :)
Water parameter are fine, salinity, I make water changes every weekend. Worked fine for 8 years ++. The little one died this morning. What could be wrong. These little guys are expensive and it’s sad to see them die one after the other.
Any suggestions?

Can be premature tank
ammonia spike
aggression
Disease
false test results
low salinity

These are examples. Need more history- were fish eating and breathing normal up to point of death. Any nipped tails noticed?
Were any of the mouth stuck open when you found them?

I’ve had this tank for 9 years now, never had any problems until now. No aggression, they were getting along. Salinity is ok, all other parameters are good unless my kit is not good anymore. I will verify the ammonia. Fish were eating, the little one who died started digging in the sand and then disappeared in the rocks. I saw him this morning for 5 seconds and he went down under the rocks. Can’t find him now. I’m going to have to get him out by removing the rocks. The other one will be so stressed out, I might loose her too.
