The spot on the clownfish could be an infection starting up (or possibly a coral sting from an LPS sweeper.) I would just continue to monitor for now until more symptoms develop (if they do.) Clownfish are notoriously bullet proof.

The white thing crawling in the sand could be any number of things... bristle worm, amphipod, etc. It wouldn't be related to what's happening with your fish though.

The things crawling around your tank are probably pods, which are great to have. Was that spot there before? With the precautions and meds your going to be feeding to the other clown, this one will eat it too. I think he's ok. Just watch it, like the other and let us know if it gets worse.

Well I noticed it this morning. I've been looking very closely at my fish the past few days so it might have been there before and I haven't noticed it but it's new to me.

Will it harm the fish to treat them with the meds in a QT tank even if it happens to be nothing? Also can I put both of them in the same QT tank?

No harm per se, but more work on you. For example, how do you plan to control ammonia in QT?

Thanks for writing that post! I've been trying to look up how to set one up the past few days and your post has been the most helpful for me to understand. I'm going to try and and see if I can find some used stuff to set one up to try and keep it cheap.
