Freaking out!!

It can be very frustrating. We've all been through it, sometimes bad things happen. I don't know which is worse: having a bad thing happen because of something stupid I did, or having a bad thing happen for no apparent reason and you're left feeling helpless. But then things get on the right track, and you step back and marvel at what you have in your house.

You got hit with what seems like a bunch of dominoes falling: tank move, fish added without your knowledge, clown dying very quickly from something perhaps related to the previous two, and now you're headed out of town in three days! It all stinks, some of it maybe preventable, some of it not.

This probably won't help, but I'll say it anyway. As Alfred said to Batman (I forget which movie): "Why do we fall down? So that we can learn how to pick ourselves up".

I moved my 160 from one side of my house to the other. Setup a 40 breeder to transfer everything too first. It was not a small job and took weeks to complete. Unfortunately my favorite PBT got stressed and didn't survive the move. That was almost a year ago and everything has been doing fine since but I agreee it was very stressful. I am really glad I stuck it out though and can now once again enjoy this hobby. I hope you are the same.

As far as Ich I am sure I probably have it in my tank. I have several tangs and I feed my fish a varied diet including soaking their food in selcon. I would only worry about it if you notice flukes, velvet or some other similar disease and then quarantine. Fish can live with Ich in my experience if they have a good immune system. Also I would call Petco and explain to them what happened and I'm sure they would take the fish back even if for free. It wouldn't hurt to ask anyway.

Needed this post! Thanks for sharing, it sucks losing one of your favorite fish. I feel so bad for my other clown!

This whole move has really put some strain on me and enjoying this hobby. How does everyone get through it? Just lost one of my clowns. Every other fish is still hiding. There is 0% enjoyment at this point and nothing but pure stress and anxiety.

I’m 100% paying for someone to move this next time or going to just sell off everything until I have a house

I’ll be honest with you dude, I lost all enjoyment for this hobby when I moved 6 months ago. I didn’t think about how tough it would be to haul my tanks and all that water up the stairs. Didn’t have any help and I swear I almost died. I didn’t lose anything, so I can’t imagine how frustrated you are, but I promise your enjoyment will come back. Just keep on keeping on and you’ll love it again. Maybe treat yourself to a new coral at some point soon.

Lol yeah definitely need to treat myself once things settle in haha. Definitely paying for someone to do the move next time. Thanks again for the kind words Need it right now haha im sure I’ll get back into it very quickly. Just stressed this is all happening and I’m leaving in 3 days leaving my fiancé to deal with this while I drink like a fool at Oktoberfest

This to shall pass. It will get better. Moving itself is a stress when you add a tank. its more. It ill get better:)
