Fritz Reef Pro Salt Mixing Instructions are Stupid

Where does it say how much salt to how much water?

I’m not new to salt mixing, I understand I may have to “adjust”, but there’s not even a ball park amount for cups to gallons.
Thier website is exactly the same.

It’s not like I’m asking for a real specific like grams to liters (like Red Sea does), or an imprecise measurement of cups to add(IO/RCSP) but at least a clue would be nice.

I switched to RPM and had the same reaction. The first time I mixed it seemed like it took forever (5 gallons) initially adding 1.5 cups then adding small amounts until correct. Now I know 5 gallons is roughly 2.5 cups. I had a similar issue with IO salts as the mix ratio on their boxes I believe are to 1.021. But at least that gives you a starting point.

This is how I mix mine. I get about 185 gallons out of the 205 gallon box if I mix it to 1.025 at 1/2 cup per gallon. I spoke to one of the reps at Fragniappe in Slidell, LA this weekend about the mixing instructions not mentioning how much to use to reach a desired salinity.
He said they were going to put it on the next batch of boxes they get printed.

And, FWIW, he told me I would get 205 gallons out of the box if I mix it to 1.023, so I guess if I had 205 gallons of RODI in a container, I could just dump in the box, otherwise I would have to figure out manually how much to use to get to 1.023 if that was my target.
I agree, the website has to be the easiest thing to change to get this information published. I thought I had seen it on the website one day but cannot find it now.

I tried a box of Fritz last year and was curious about how many gallons the 205 gallon box would make at 35 ppt,the Fritz rep told me it would be 166 gallons.FWIW

Yes at 1.026 my calcium is about 490 too

So what do you want mix the salinity at for calcium of 420 to 450 which I like as a good calcium numbers

But unless you are doing a large water change 490 Ca is hardly going to move the tank levels and certainly not to an undesirable level. When I started my new tank, all but 60 gallons (which was from my old tank) was new water using Fritz RPM...I just waited a bit before starting Calcium dosing. I do like the Fritz product and find this a minor annoyance. Even with IO I still found myself adding a few times in the mixing tank to get to my desired level of 1.025 for salinity, so that part is the same for me.

Well they didn't, I bought a box last month and the mixing instructions are still crap on the boxes

I don't think I ever read the directions on a box of salt. Ever. I mix and after a few times using the salt I can estimate super close.

i got the same results and my alk was at 11... the instructions aren’t very clear i just add salt and test salinity with the hanna checker, if i go over the target salinity i add more water. i switched to red sea blue bucket but their instructions are worse... but the alk matches what they advertised at 35ppt

folks if memory serves me correctly, 35ppt salinity is 2.5 cups salt mix for 5 gallons of water. to bad fritz still cant be bothered to put that on the box, guess they are trying to pocket more money by cutting costs on box printing LOL

Back when I used Fritz I figured out it was 1lb 9.3oz of salt to mix 5 gallons to 1.025 salinity.
