I think something went to town on a head (and part of another head) of my frogspawn last night. I'm not sure though. It was growing like crazy and fully extended during the day, then the past couple of weeks retracted more often than not. Then today I find one head almost totally missing and the head next to it has a chunk gone. White fluff and goo are what remain. Sorry the pictures aren't the best.
Is something likely eating it or could there be another culprit? My parameters are solid and steady. I've got a hammer right next to it without issue.

I've got two current USA marine orbits, 18 and 24 inches, plus a 24" stunner strip. I've had that particular frogspawn for over 6 months with no change in lights.

Colors are very lights this make me think on a long time lights action
I will try to save corals placing them in a shadow area or under low whites and more actinic and low flow

I'll try to move it for sure. I was under the assumption my lights were just good enough for lps so have had this guy front and center. I'd hate to lose it so will definitely take your advice and try

It just occurred to me I tried reef roids for the first time a couple weeks ago. Any thoughts on a potential negative effect from those?

Bumping this because my frogspawn isn't showing improvement yet. I've got it in the corner, out of direct light. There is no longer white flesh falling off of a couple of the heads but it is extremely retracted and pitiful looking

You see that tissue is still in good condition also round the branch?
Or you see white skeleton and polyps retracting in some parts?
Don't talk about second branch that is gone in my opinion but talk about branch on the left and pic are not clear

Yes the tissue around the branch still looks good, pink and healthy. The only skeleton that is exposed is where The flesh was falling off the other day. The polyps look like they would be fine if they would just extend

You can save it patience very few light and flow
You can also spread a solution of amino round it

The issue is too much light

Is the water flow from the hammer towards the frogspawn? Could sweeper tentacles have hit it?

No direct flow on them. Also, I never saw sweepera on either even in the middle of the night. Besides, aren't hammer, frogspawn, and anchor all ok together?

Hi bsf this is an euphyllia come from a tank of Sps and was in very bad condition too this after 2 months and as you can see light is very low and I feed it once a week with solution of water tank 30 ml 2 drop of ammino and very few grain of vpower
Now is stinging every where ...I want to kill it:mad:
So this to suggest to you to low light in your tank and enhance nitrate and po4 is a way to preserve those beautifull corals
