frogspawn

Flow my friend flow!
whats your flow like mine did the same thing when there wasnt enough water flow they dont want an under water hurricane but they do need the waving motion! mine puffed up immediatley when i added another pump to my tank.

+1 Mine doesn't like steady force flow at all but loves the wp40 pulse mode.

It is frogspawn. Octospawn is just a variety of frogspawn. The car is the same. They just look slightly different.

It looks as though you have what us called bi-color frogspawn. The blueish tipped tentacles may have just been not out earlier. It does look unhappy. What are you water perimeters?
parameters are in check no ammonia or nitrite um nitrate is 20 ph is 7.8 to 8.0 hard to tell on the test ,and salinity is 34ppt i well start to bring this up slow to 35 ppt.

The numbers listed are in check. The other important one is alk. Euphyllia can be picky about its water placement. It may not like either the amount of light or flow. Moving it to a different spot each day till it seems happy. Is a no cost trial.

Seems as though more light is bringing the color back to some of the ends, we well see and i well keep everbody posted. going to get another frag tmrw from a local frag swap as well as reef fundamentals test kit.

It is definitely looking better :D Very nice! Just remember to go slow with ramping those leds up. Leave them at this setting for a few more days before ramping them up anymore if at all needed. But the frogspawn has improved so it was being light starved.

My frogspawn is not in the direct path of my leds but gets spillover I guess you could say. I have my lights set pretty high plus I have t5s too. They tend to be placed low-mid level in your tank so if you put it there and adjust your lights to its liking then your lights should be at good levels all the way around for other coral as well.

To give you an idea where it should be, my tank is 22" deep, the lights are 10" off the water surface and the frogspawn is about 8" off the sand bed at its base. If it is located higher than that slowly move it down as you ramp up. This is a good way (or it was for me) to find the sweet spot for my led light level.

thank u for the reply agin and my tank is alsao 22''deep an lights are about 10 too the frogspawn is probly a lil higher though.i would like to get a orange monitepora cap tmrw i think that is it,there so awsome ..

Yes, I have a red monti cap :) They like the same light as the frog spawn but plate better with a little more flow but not too close to the flow source. I accidentally killed my green cap this way :(

Well I'm glad the frogspawn is doing better and your lighting is about on track. And now the monti will do well too :D
