I just had razz you!! Tag me when you start the new build thread. I would like to see the 135 go together.

Still dealing with my parameter swings and salinity issue of in my thread. I think I will have it down to salinity running low and should have a grasp by this weekend.

So I decided to not use the black Hawaiian sand I have been using in this tank for the new one. After seeing issues Turtle was having with Tahitian black and the fact that it is magnetic, I decided to go another route this time. I bought 2 - 40 lb bags of CaribSea Ocean Direct live sand. I liked what I was reading about it and Drs. F&S have a great price on it right now. For almost 1/2 of what BRS and MD have it for, I couldn't resist.

We'll see if it will be as good as I hope it will.

Alright, so I made it over here just as you are preparing to set up a new tank. 99% of the time I'm looking at R2R on my phone in portrait and I don't see anyone's signatures. When I finally get on a computer I'm like, "Well dang, I need to go check out that build thread."

Congrats on the Waterbox, seems like everyone is getting new tanks this spring. You, me, Zack K...

I dub this, The Spring of the New Reefs.

Did a 25G water change today. I took the water and added it to a 40B along with the rock from the right of the tank as well as 9G of fresh salt water. Put a heater, powerhead and a HOB filter in to get it ready for the rest of the rock and corals. This way I can get the 90 out and be prepared to install the Waterbox.

I might just add some of the rock to a Brute with more water from the 90 instead of putting it in the 40B. Hopefully I won't have to have the corals in the 40B too long. Maybe a week or 2 if all goes well. I am going to have to break the rock up to get the palys and zoas off. This is going to be the hardest thing I believe.

Any insights on doing that? Out of water? In water? Definitely going to need some wisdom on that....

That's a sweet setup~Did you make the 90 into a terrarium? Not being funny, in the least, as that is scary. I'll binge read your post too~

Na sold it to someone who ended up doing something wrong and got a leak in it. Charged back the PayPal deposit he gave me and kept the tank. I think he put the overflow on wrong.
