Full beginner in the reef tank hobby : Questions

Tidal is a great HOB filter with skimmer but HOB's are often loud unfortunately. Many canister filters are quiet though. I think your best solution may be internal filtration. The Shark pro by sicce: (Italian company so should be available)

I have one in this tank on the left side:

I have a Tunze internal skimmer. They are quiet but they do make a noise. Like a white noise. If it’s bothering you, maybe turn it off during the night.

My nitrates were getting too low so my skimmer is now off during the day and only working at night.

@Enzoo92 If you want a complete internal kit, there is a really nice one that’s available in Europe. Here in North America we have to buy it separately. That’s what I did. In the kit, there is the Tunze ATO, Tunze Skimmer and Tunze internal filter. I’ve been using mine for a year and I can assure you they’re good quality and do a good job.

They come in three sizes, this is the larger size (what I have for my 75 gallons or 280 liters) :

Great tank, the skimmer doesn't really distort the scape and the estethic it's cool

Its better if you can see the tank.
So the exacts dimensions are 70 cm x 70 cm × 35 cm.
It will be a shallow reef tank.

You can see a crack on the coin of the glass but I fixed it with silicone and its perfectly waterproof.
( this tank was a freshwater aquarium before )

As for biological filtration (bacterial filtration) I'd highly recommend real live rock from the ocean if you can get it there...that'll go a long way to maturing your tank and the biodiversity is priceless.

I'm stores they still have rock that was originally from the ocean (when I say "live ocean rock" I just mean rock originally collected from the ocean)...I just think it has a lot of benefits over starting completely sterile with all dry rock

You're NOT stupid, you're just new to the terms and setting up a saltwater tank (and I saw English isn't your first language)

Hi Enzo! I would be careful with that crack. Once you fill the tank, the water pressure over time will create stress on the crack and cause it to grow underneath all that silicone. Using silicone on cracks will fix it temporarily, but it usually does not fix it for very long.

Oh okey, during 2 years the tank was perfectly waterproof so I thought it will be ok...

Hi everyone iam back here to share with you the progress of my tank.
It's on water since 25 October and that's how it's looking now:

I still have some algae that appeared at the starting of the tank but they declines slowly.
You can see that there is no skimmer in the thank, iam waiting for the fishes, I'll put him in when the fishes arrive.

The cladiella is growing very very fast it's impressive and the euphyllia seems to be happy in this part of the tank ...

I would like add some chysiptera parasema next month, do you think my tank is big enough for those fish ?

Your tank is big enough but I warn you that they are aggressive fish. You may not be able to add other fish with chysiptera parasema.

Maybe you know some species of damsel fish less aggressive that i can add into my tank?

Damsels are all pretty aggressive. Clownfish are damsels but they are less aggressive. Other suggestions are gramma loreto, a species of blenny, and a sand goby like ryptocentrus cinctus or Amblyeleotris guttata.

If you want a damsel you may be able to get a goby too but get the goby first.

I just had to remove my pacific damsel (Allen’s) because it was bullying my YWG. Now that it’s gone everyone in the tank feels more comfortable. It was a beautiful fish but I’m glad it’s gone.
