I noticed him about a month ago. He was the size of a pea. He has really grown. I think he came along with a rock I grabbed last month when I was diving here outside of port canaveral. I think he's pretty cool, so I'm pretty happy.

Pencil Urchin? I hope so. He is very cool. Kinda of a daily thing to find him and see where he is at? Right now i have some red mushrooms, some GSP, some palys and some zoas. He should just munch some algae right?

Yup! Until thats all gone. One of the best hitch hikers I've seen. I received a chocolate crab as a hitch hiker one time and he ate all my chromis's. Very scary looking crab! Huge nasty pinchers and very fast!

No, only in extreme cases where he has nothing else to eat.

I think I have plenty of algae for him now. How big do they get? Right now I have tons of film algae and coralline to substain an urchin. Just concerned if he gets to big.

Pencil Urchins just LOVE coralline algae!! They also get pretty big. Nocturnal grazers so don't be surprised if you wake up one morning to white areas on your rock. I re-homed mine ;)
Size depends on species but you looking at it's body being about the size of a golf ball, with spines up to 3".

When you do take him for that ride you might want to consider acclimating him back to the ocean for several obv reasons one mainly being water temp and PH. If you just drop him over board the shock could kill him. Also I remove all hitch hiking urchins I find just recently a solid black one appeared and I quickly removed him. When you can't ID the species you are playing roulette.

Pencil urchins are not reef safe. I had one and it ate anything it ran over fyi. If you have corals I would suggest giving him away or trading him in.
