Funky Milli polyp extension

How did the polyps become this way? Did one start and spread to the next? Or did they all start showing signs at once? Did these pieces ever show signs of normal PE?

This is basically how they settled in when they went into the tank. Polyps were a little retracted for a dy or two after shipping/dipping/glueing and then became this. Haven't seen it spread, happened concurrently on the pieces that look like this.

Guess I'll see how it goes. Not really worried about it as long as they grow and color well. Figure it will run its course one way or another.

I've got small kids so my tank is a "whatever lives lives" scenario. Not much time to try to save things when they don't like me.

FWIW, most of my non-Millis are happy at the moment

I think the light par too strong

I don't think I've ever seen that before, if you were to make them retract do they inflate looking like that again?

To me, it almost looks like a bounce effect. I'd suspect lighting first.

It's possible to see Inflated vesicles on Acropora, I've just seen it differently and not all over before.

Good question! I would love to see some better pics. Have you tried cutting a piece off and putting it in a friends tank or something to see if it goes back to normal?

That's a question for the OP, I'd like to know as well (:
