Good looking tank. What lights are you using?

Lools great Garf. Your ATS screen just lays horizontal passively in the sump? What are you using to light it?

Cheers. The screen just lays on a platform to keep it about an inch under the surface of the water. Most of the flow through the sump (guessing about 1500ltrs / hr) is directed over it. The lighting is next to upgrade. I’m using this ancient growlight (think it’s supposed to be a 36 watt, but not sure as I bought it years ago and there’s nothing written on it). It’s also too big, and gets in my way, constantly.

Nice! looks like there's plenty that'll grow in :)
Is that 3 different wave makers I see?
No shortage of flow that’s for sure. 2 x maxspect 230s (50% on Ocean Gyre setting), 2 x old hydor Corallias 2400s and lots of sump return water. Had to move the 1 rock of zoas around the back, to give them a rest because they were fragging there selves. On the upside, I’ve got 3 rocks with them on now :)
Just waiting for stuff to grow now

Nice big chunk of zoa's.
New to salt side but want get my own little zoa garden going on a little island.probably start by little frag of zoa tbh.
Seen full large colony with maybe 40- 50 heads for £ 45 in lfs and seen small frag with like 5 heads for £ 20 .large colony much more economical but been scared reading about all these coral pests and its much easier to spot and treat a smaller frag than a large colony and guess better to see small frag grow into something large that you helped get that large ( but i want it all now and want it fast ) only joking i know good things come to those that wait ^_^

I like how you added a UV as soon as you saw bacterial issues. If only I was as wise.
I had a similar problem on my previous tank which I had for around 10 years, and that was with loads of proper live rock. Then I put a UV on and never replaced the bulb and just turned it off after 18months or so. Hoping this tank will behave similarly;

11 month pic. I’ve removed the live aroganite rock from the top, to open it up. All of the aquascape visible is now dry calcite chunks fixed together with Portland cement.
