Gbta color loss

I cannot figure anything out. I wonder if a fish or something picked at it until it bleached from stress.

Fallow tank

Ah. Crab? I had a blue legged hermit start trying to eat a RBTA of mine and killed it awhile back.

I have 2, one scarlet that is 3 years old and has never once gone after my coral, the other is a blue leg that I got recently but have never seen him bothering any of the corals either but I'm not there all day watching obviously

I’m confused. So the first pic looks like it got bleached which mean the second pic wouldn’t be zoathelle (right?). I think its inside are spit out . I would do what Amoo suggest and you a bucket or spare tank . In such a small tank I would risk it dying in there.

Okay I've got the 3g on stand by, it looks like shes okay now, I can see her pink foot and shes facing the sand again but still going to keep a close eye on her... still need to figure out why this happened. I'm going to keep the prime on at low settings for now

So this is going to sound a little radical but after thinking about it, it makes some sense in my head.

Change your blues and violets to peak at 40% and turn everything else to 0. Give it a day or two and see how it responds.

I realize me just parroting off numbers doesn't really help you learn any so let me explain.

We know the nem has been bleaching under the current old settings.

We were trying to lower them slightly, but this obviously did not have a positive impact. It may still be getting too much light. The thought process here is to keep the blues and purples running, giving you some good usable spectrum and some light, but also giving us a chance to reset it's tolerance. Obviously the CW is going to have the most impact on PAR and we don't want to light starve the thing hence the small bump up in blues and purples, but we don't want to keep hammering it with light if it's going to continue to deteriorate.

So the thought process is try a solid blue and purple spectrum for a few days. If it starts to respond favorably, we can then start slowly bringing back in everything else.

Sorry im no help but I'm very curios on what happened to the nem on the third picture. Could it possibly be the tentacles?

No it's most certainly guts/insides whatever you want to call it.

If all CUC is accounted for and no feeding was done that eliminates possibly eating something and spitting it out. It's entirely possible it fully deflated, expelling zoos or water from it's system and tried to reset itself. By the time Jenny saw it, the expelled zoos could have possibly already been gone into the current and unnoticed and it hadn't reinflated yet.

Deflating at this stage is obviously a bad sign, but follows the trend of deteriorating. Still that was a serious deflation.

I dont believe so, when I was able to flash a light on it I could see the tentacles completely deflated and stringy looking, but green. I'm sure it was due to the light because that's all that has changed since it started to bleach

I though it was its guts in the last post but I wasn't sure .I really hope it pulls through and returns back to normal.
I recently bought a bleached nem ( on purpose) he seems to be recovering really fast and getting his colors back.

Lights have been out since 12, so far she is ok, I can see her foot and her green tentacles (deflated) but I think she will recover. I'll see how she is in the morning. Fingers crossed

Someone is on the move this morning

Breathing a sigh of relief! I'm going to stack it up to the change in lighting... probably was used to low lighting at the lfs. Although I hope she doesnt stay hanging this way lol
