Peppermints will always be over 10,000$ and I see some gems going for 2000$ so 500 isn't that far off. The main reason they're so expensive is because there aren't many collectors where they are found, if we could have them breeding in the US that wouldn't be a bad guess on price

The main reason they are expensive is because they are BAD and not many collectors.... and if that small group of collectors knew the plan was to bring these in to try to mass breed them in an attempt to lower the price I bet the price would double. Then you look into the type and size of setup and equipment needed to be able to make mass breeding them a reality and I doubt it many clownfish breeders would have the time or space to do so which means it would be large scale commercial breeding outfits doing it, and they arent going to do it just for the love of the hobby they need to make some bank on the deal (If I remember right the CB angels were ~2x the cost of WC ones, and I doubt they need nearly the size tank tangs would lol). Look at clowns, I have been in this hobby for 4 or 5 yrs, and they are still pretty much the same price and the CB ones are no different in cost then the WC ones.
I'm not trying to be a ***** and crush your dreams, but I am being realistic.... we aren't likely to see $500 gems within atleast the next 10 yrs anyways probably unless collection drastically increases, but the collectors won't really want that to happen either as it allows them to keep their prices higher as well. I mean if they can go down and net $500 a fish themselves why do they want to mass collect them and get $5 a fish
Only other chance at $500 gems would be if there was no demand for them, and thats not likely either.... you may see them in the 1250-1800 range more but likely not 500.
