Getting a new LED, and looking for opinions

alibaba led bars honestly look very similar in specs (i mean literally the same as orphek spectrum) to both orphek and quanta for a fraction of the price, and most likely they are buying from some company and rebranding like reefbreeders and evergrow

these looked promising and the price is amazing and looks controllable with the meanwell driver (i would try to double check that though) but idk anyone using them at all

I just bought a ReefBreeder Photon v-24 for just a bit more and ReefBreeder has a guarantee and a reputation for customer service. I have had my fixture about 2 months and am really happy with it. Just another option to consider.

let me know how these lights work out if you go through with the purchase. i would love to know one more well priced led to recommend to other people but definitely need a couple peoples feedback before doing so as i just feel that is the right thing to do. I didnt recommend smatfarms to people until i actually knew how well they were testing wouldnt have felt right

My understanding is the quanta have more leds in the same space, and offer more options on tested color layouts then the Chinese versions. Closer to what orphek does with the 3 options. Quanta having 4.

I doubt that will happen since the clone wars seem to mostly be focused on namebrand lights, and not the lower priced/ known ones.

@Shooter6 since you were involved in the led build maybe you cud ask him.

I also think a 3d printed holder for an acrylic diffuser could be good as well with something like this one maybe (idk im not a led builder lol)

If you looked at my videos, with my layout, the mirage x has zero disco ball effect. Only a light shimmer.

yes but you also have many panels to overcome the issue (which looks awesome i shud add), like my orphek icon compact i would bet that it would have the same issues at max spread for 1 mirage x150 (i could be wrong but usually a diffuser panel helps with discoball effect)

I overcame the disco by using white leds to take care of the red and green spectrums.
Multiple blue spectrums and cyan. This equals no disco ball.

Disco is caused by the colors not blending from Multiple colored leds.

With my layout I achieved a blue with shimmer from the white leds.

Oh I miss understood. I thought you were talking about if the mirage x needing the diffuser . If the icon is causing a disco ball effect then that diffuser stuff may work. I used the solid sheet diffuser for florescent fixtures in the past with other leds. The plasticsheet for the kitchen light as an example.
