If we are talking who should feel most disappointed by all this, it's probably Ryan. After BRS just got done donating a mass amount of money and products back into the reefing community over the holiday season, it had to be a bit disappointing to see a handful of customers take advantage of an obvious pricing mistake just a week later. Maybe not so much the people that bought one or two things, but definitely those that tried to purchase multiples of items with the obvious intent to resell.

99% of people didn’t get anything though so they didn’t feel the impact of the giveaway. It would be a different story if someone won a big item and still tried to take advantage of the mistake

Just wanted to update everyone that BRS issued a refund today morning. At least that is what they did for my order.

The anticipation was fun and hopefully everyone (on both sides) got a good laugh out of it.

Edit: No one-time discounts or credits were offered. Just the refund.

As the owner of BRS, I am sure he could bump his salary a little bit if they weren't giving away over $1M in swag and promo items a year.

Not odd at all. I see Ryan as an extremely passionate advocate of this hobby who despite running a for profit business, also tries to give back to the community and share his successes. I don't see him as some evil corporate entity that some around here think he has morphed into.

Any business owner who shares the same passion as his customers and in this case, really seems to really live for the reefing culture, would be disappointed seeing customers try to take advantage of them, I think.

I couldn't agree more with this about Ryan's passion for the hobby. Although to be fair I would've still bought a little bit of ghl stuff if I would've gotten it for those insane prices even realizing it was in error. I guess my way of thinking is that someone is going to take advantage of the error I might as well get my cut of it.

And I would like to think that no customer would be upset over how it ended since everyone knew the prices weren't correct.

I totally agree with this. I haven’t been a longtime BRS customer but over the past year I have seen them do some amazing things. Their latest giveaway is just one example with the dream tank. Whether the money comes out of their pocket or not they still make it happen and they don’t make you jump through hoops.

Man I'd really like to think not. I can see being disappointed by not getting it, but I'd like to think no one would be angry with BRS because they weren't given their items that were very obviously priced incorrectly.

It seems more like you are unhappy with BRS and its manifesting in these posts where you keep trying to drag them. Like, you were calling them out in the other thread for not having responded to this, even though it was New Years Day. Either that or you think this is much more significant deal than it actually is. It's such a strange departure from all the other positivity I see you encouraging and spreading around here.

Please don’t confuse the two -Big difference from R2R reefers and a company that operates for profit.
