leave it alone, it actually looks pretty good for being newly introduced. Once you see gaping mouth, deflation, and the usual signs, get that HT and Cipro ready. Although, I haven't done it in a while, and others can give you information on whatever antibiotic we're using these days...

The gig looked a bit stressed when first added to tank, but now appears to be acclimated well. Your tank looks very established which is why he's doing so well. I normally place my Gigantea's on the edge of the reef. I would just leave this one on the rocks for now though. You don't want to stress him. He will start to move on his own. If not, he may be happy there. He's bleached, but with good water parameters, flow, lighting, and food...they will regain their zoo typically in about 3-4 months. Yes, it takes quite a while. Just feed very small pieces of food. No Silversides! They will be safer eating a seafood mix from your local grocery store. Silversides have been noted to kill a few gig and Haddoni due to contamination. Human grade food is safe.

The best antibiotic for Gigantea's is Septra DS. 1/2 to a whole pill per 10/G. We've been treating with a whole pill with fantastic results. However, if you end up have to treat for an extended amount of time. I think it's better to decrease the dose with Septra.

I still have a whole bottle of Cipro and a very happy healthy almost 2yr resident purple S. Gigantea. I'm not planning on treating anytime soon, but I should probably stay up to date on the protocol.

I can get one when its posture looks better. Just fed and as usual it nabs stuff out of the water column. When it looks more normal and full glory, I will take a picture.. probably should start a thread. I have one on RC that hasn't been updated in heck, at least half a year if not more.

It looks like it may have partially bleached at one time or other but you can see the zooxanthellea coming back, it has higher concentrations in some parts as it spreads..... Developing a nice brown color..
They prefer to be feed smaller particles especially while recovering.. I feed mine medium to larger mysis shrimp every couple of days...

yes its sticky to the touch have mysis and krill its under 6 t5 54 tubest not moved since its found its place just need abit more flow cant get Cipro in the uk what would you sugest

You can get it on ebay UK.
My Nems loved T5's. He should do well under them.
Looking very healthy at this point. Bleached, but healthy. It takes about 3-4 months for a gig to color back up.
