I would like to give a shout out here to my friend Julian Sprung from Two Little Fishies. Every once in a while I run out of supplies and order up a box of supplies from him all at once. What a great collection of stuff I got this time. I got some new things to try including his mega-magnet version of the veggie clip and the new trace elements he has. I have always really liked the zoplan food for my corals. I also got the AccuraSea solution to best calibrate my refractometer. Of course lots of Nori for the tangs!

So, it would not be a trip to MACNA without some drama in one's aquarium. Mine came on Saturday just after noon when I got a high-pH alert from my Apex for my calcium reactor. It looked as if my CO2 ran out. When I got home, the gauges confirmed that suspicion. Yesterday I exchanged my 20lb bottle ($58) and hooked it up. Then I had to re-adjust my bubble rate (I like it to be just fast enough so that the solenoid is not going off and on a lot). By this morning it was obvious that it was not bubbling fast enough so I adjusted it up some more (you can see the second drop), and now I will wait to see if it settles in where it should.

Here is an additional interesting graph. This shows the actual effect of the low-pH CR effluent on the overall tank pH. Basically the CR is responsible for lowering the overall tank pH by about 0.15

More pics from the MACNA trip - all the SPS are from Unique Corals. The LPS are from or show tank and came from SDC. The only one of these that I already had was the Jedi Mind Trick Montipora which I had in my office nano forever and it just sat there. Now it is thriving after two weeks in my 425.

Oh, I almost forgot, we picked up some zoanthids from our MACNA neighbor VW Reefs . One of them is pictured above. More pics of those will follow after they get happy in the tank!
