I bought mine used on RC..they truly are set and forget. I also bought a used Geo 818 for the main display and wait to you see the regulator I'll put on that bad boy.

I have to thank Shaun of Sunlight Supply for recommending buying angle iron at HD. I bought six 8' sticks of 1" angle iron and was going to rivet it, but found a welder who said he could weld the angle iron (trying to find a welder to weld aluminum has been a pain).

I used Rustoleum paint to help keep the aluminum from corroding.

Aluminum doesn't rust it corrodes, ether way you should be fine.

Ha ha, I work with Aluminum, sometimes around SW too and you'd be amazed at how quickly it corrodes when not properly protected.
