Glass cages

Looks like even with living ~30 minutes from them (I grocery shop in Dickson), SCA would still be cheaper for me for a 150g tank.... and that's comparing rimmed/pick-up from Glass Cages and rimless/shipped from SCA.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I just sent them a RFQ on a 150 gal.

Ordered in early feb and haven’t received my tank. They said they had truck problems and I think the real truth is they don’t have enough deliveries in Houston yet to make the trip. About to request my money back.

I actually live near them (~45 minutes, but I live in the middle of nowhere and do grocery shopping that way about 10 minutes from them) and got my glass baffles for my sump cut there (they only wanted $15!). The owner was very nice and took me on a tour of the entire facility - they have a HUGE breeding operation and you can get fish there very cheaply. You can even fish in their ponds! But, that being said, it's definitely a smaller operation and it really is in the middle of nowhere. It's mostly in a big barn and attached buildings on a farm. It seemed like they knew what they were doing, but I'd still be wary with the reviews that they have.

I just spent the past 6 months of hell dealing with Glasscages so I want to add my experience here for perspective. I ordered a 350-gallon glass tank from them in May. They promised delivery in mid June, but when I called in mid-June, they just received the glass sheets. I finally got my tank in late July. The tank arrived with a broken bottom. The tank packaging is beyond flimsy. A heavy glass tank was placed on a warehouse wooden palate, tied by 2 loose plastic cords, and covered by a cardboard box. See the attached pictures if you don't believe that an aquarium manufacturer can be that careless and stupid. I bought my last tank (675 gallon) from Fishtanksdirect, which is acrylic. And it was shipped in a custom-made wooden crate.

After my call, they sent me an email stating that they will replace my tank for free. I had asked them to drill holes for my custom overflow so I had to send them my template. Despite FedEx confirmation that Glasscages signed for it, they lost the template. Afterward, I had to pay for another template, and mailed it to them. Then I heard nothing for more than a month. My assistant called them, and now they said that they only will replace the tank if I pay (but with a discount). Now, they played the victim card, and blamed it on the trucking company. Imagine that you buy fish from a vendor, who shipped the fish without oxygen or insulation, so the fish died in transit. Then the vendor turned around to blame the shipping company for their careless handling.

So now, after 6 months of hell, I have no fish tank. I have a huge broken fish tank sitting in my garage (not to mention a very unhappy wife :). I paid for two overflow templates which I no longer have. And I am at least 4 thousand dollars poorer (tank cost, homedepot truck rental, movers etc.). It is a crime that a shady company like Glasscages is still in business.

I’d be ticked!!! They expect you to drive the aquarium home on a water bed. That’s terrible packaging.

Glasscages actually blamed it on the trucking company which transported the tank to my city. I chose them initially because they promised to get the tank done within a month. That should have been the red flag.

That’s horrible Redsea sent me a tank and it was very well packed for delivery. They need to take a look at how they do it.

Can’t believe they would do this. I am so glad I didn’t go with them. The 300G I bought from Custom Aquarium was crated like a tank. The crate actually weighed more than the tank.
Sorry you have to deal with that. I hope you sue them and get a punitive payment from them.

This is when you walk right into the bank and dispute your payment.

If paid by credit card and the credit card company wont do a charge back, I would take them small claims court, not your fault they shipped it poorly, and you shouldn't take the hit for their error.

My red sea reefer 170 which is only like 34 gallons was shipped better then what your photos show.
