Go big or go home (MaxSpect Gyre)

Running 2 Gyre 130's on the top of my 72gal at %40 and a Mp-40 2 thirds of the way down in the middle of the tank. Really like the Gyre's and I have been running them for 15 months without issue. I clean the Gyre's every 3 months and I move a bunch of water

Nitrates and Phosphates are my battle for the reason I over feed, so I run GFO in the sump and a small reactor with bio-pellets. I also vacuum the the sand bed when I do water changes.

I use a combination of one 150 gyre and a Jebao rw8 on each of my two tanks. 150 and 110 gal. Water movement is great and quite. I had a vortec40, but it was very noisily. A bonus is the cost of a gyre and a jabeo is less than one vortex.

So I ended up with two RW-8, thinking it would offer just a little bit more versatility than a gyre. First impression - very disappointed in the lack of water movement. My previous two cheap power heads moved so much more water than these (even at 100%). Now it is my first afternoon with them, so it could just be some tweaking and getting the different settings figured out to get the best movement. But I was expecting so much more from these out of the box. Not near the power I was hoping for.
My question is this, where do you have yours placed? Programs? Speeds? Any advice really!
Here is a photo of my tank from last month as reference

Just an idea of flow. This is with both cranked up to 100%. This is located bottom third of the tank. I just feel there should be more flow. Maybe I'm wrong?

I love the jebao. Used to have two in my tank but when I got my vortech.... They are awesome!!! So high tech and quiet.

I just got my rw-4 last night and I LOVE it! Tons of flow. It replaced two koralia nanos on my 20g long and I have way more flow and it's on 50% idk why yours aren't satisfactory.

i own and still use my xf-150 as well as 2x mp40s.

my mp40s lost a ton of power after a year. i upgraded to the gyre xf-150 on top of it to move more water.

after spending a grand on top notch water-movers ill say this.

everything loses power after time. the premium for ecotech or maxspect is minimal at best.

thats how "i" look at it. and i spent the $$$

so yes. they are quality products. but they degrade just as quick as the chinese knock offs

Somethings not right. I'm running 2 rw4's on my 40B at only 50%. Any higher and my sand gets blown everywhere. One on each end. Mid level. W1 dial half. Master/slave and night mode.

I have 2 130s on a 40 breeder. They replaced 2 mp10s. Best thing I've done for my tank

FWIW - I control my two Jebao pumps with the JBWave controller and definitely like it. So much more control.

I am running 2 x Gyre 150s one vertical with alternating flow and one horizontal constant flow , been running for 18 months no issues

they do appear to lift a lot of detritus when you first install them

I love my Gyre 150. I had Mp 40's but they cant hold a candle to the flow of the Gyre. On a side note...I will never bu Jaebo products ever again. Complete garbage. All Jaebo equipment I've bought had to be replaced within 8 months.

That's for all he info! I'll have to do some reading when I get home. Would two of the rw4 be sufficient for a 90, or would I need to look at a larger model?
I would get the RW-8's they still go fairly low and you of coarse more at the top in for just a few dollars more. I think I paid around $20 more each.

i still use my wp-40s. they are craptastically chinese, but they still move water
