First try was a bust. The night lapse is super sensitive.. it basically has to be pitch black. I also tried to do dusk to dawn so had yo keep cam outside of tank to have it powered. So I ended up with overexposed and too much glare.

My next try will be in tank when lights are fully off. I will only get around 2.5 hrs of lapse with the battery power.

Following along. How are you setting the go pro up? In tank and is there a setting on the go pro for night vision? Maybe try a moon light on very dim but may need to be with whites to be picked up by the camera.

Last night I tried outside of tank, because I wanted an extended length of video (using battery in tank will last about 2.5 hrs). There ended up to be way too much glare, so it definately needs to go in the tank.

I started when the blues were on and wanted to take time lapse until I got up in the morning (blues -> off -> blues). Here is a link which describes the settings: http://gopro.com/support/articles/how-to-use-night-photo-night-lapse

here is what I had it set to:

Mode; Night lapse
Shutter: 20 seconds
Interval: COntinuous
Megapixesl: 12MP/Wide
Protune: On
WhiteBalance: Native
Color: GoPro Color
ISO Limit: 800
Sharpness: High

This thing can literally make something look like day when, there is very little light. I am still getting familiar with what I should set it to. I am going to try in tank tonight, when no blues are on (it also picks up light from a light that was on two rooms down from where I have the tank). I am going to point it at the corner where my serpent star usually is. I want to see if it actually comes out of rockwork at night. It always seems to be in the same location during the day when I feed.

I will post a vide/pics tomorrow.

Nothing special but just documenting. Next time I will put a piece of shrimp in to draw creatures to the camera. The video went for about 3-4 hrs in total time elapsed, the tank lights were totally off, and the only other lighting in the room was a nightlight about 14 feet away. I also changed the shutter to 30 seconds.

Mode; Night lapse
Shutter: 30 seconds
Interval: COntinuous
Megapixesl: 12MP/Wide
Protune: On
WhiteBalance: Native
Color: GoPro Color
ISO Limit: 800
Sharpness: High

I did not mess with tweaking the coloring, which could have been done in GoProStudio.

I also want to get the Macro lense for it. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...7EEw86JkzShoC-tfw_wcB&is=REG&m=Y&A=details&Q=

Cool. Who is hopping along the sand bed? Can't quite make him out.

You've inspired me, I need to do this. I haven't played with my Hero 4 in ages. Wish I had a longer tank though! Excellent videos. What was the shutter on for the day lapse?

Very cool videos thanks for sharing!

Very cool!! How did you upload the time lapse to YouTube? I have one of my scoly eating, but can't seem to figure out how to upload it.

Do you have a YouTube account? I think you just upload and find the file on your desktop. Not sure what format go pro saves as but I assume it is compatible with YouTube without a converter

I do. My problem seems to be when I pull it off the camera it's just all individual pictures for some reason. Maybe I need to "put them together" in the editor. I'm extremely bad with technology, especially for being fairly young...lol
