So I bought a goby, and I really have no clue which type he is. I've heard multiple things and I really just wanna clear it up and knows what's best for him. But hard to do when I can't get a direct answer. Hahaha. I was told he was a blue spotted goby.. then a pink spotted goby.. and then I was told they were the same.. then I was told he was a some other type of goby. And I just wanna be 100%. Hahah. Someone help me. Posting pictures of what I can get, since he's a master hider.

where did you get this goby?

If he didn't hide constantly, I could. But he stays hidden in his cave. I think he only likes to come out at night. He pokes his head out an grabs food. And my tank was cloudy in those pictures because I had just moved some sand around. So it looks that way. I just got the little guy, so I haven't had a ton of chances to capture him. When I try to post a video on here, it doesn't work. But I do have one video of him coming out for food.

I haven't been able to see him in action other then building dunes in the sand with his tail. He's created his cave underneath my live rock..

A place called premier aquatics near me. We were told he was a pink spotted goby. But when we google it, he looks like a blue spotted goby. But then someone told me they were the same. And I just don't know. Hahah.

He looks nothing like that.. he's got blue neon dots on his head and then kinda dark stipes down him.. the internet is a finicky place to find information on a species of so many kinds.

I honestly believe you're correct.. there's not a lot of information on a blue line shrimp goby. But I think that's what he is. The goby expert of the day award goes to you! Hahah. I don't think the people who sold it to me even knew what he was..

This is a very stressed out Cryptocentrus pavoninoides.

Why do you say that? I mean he probably is. We got him 3 days ago. So he's still new. But I think that's what he is.. the store I got him from didn't even know what they were selling.. and he was not a cheap little fish.
