Been dealing with dinos without much success. I'm thinking of removing the sand and going sandless. Are there special considerations to keep in mind? Does the reflection off the bottom scare fish?

I agree with @Vested
I run barebottom tanks and have never had a problem whether starting barebottom or removing sand from a running tank. Maybe some bio filter will be lost removing from an existing system? I'm not knowledgeable enough to say yes or no but removing sand has not caused any issues when I have done it.
Just because you remove the sand, that’s not going to fix Dino’s, rather, it may make it worse as sand provides a ton of surface area for our processors. All hard surfaces (rockwork) are home to Dino’s.Been dealing with dinos without much success. I'm thinking of removing the sand and going sandless. Are there special considerations to keep in mind? You could try this. I run it in my 20 nano and my 80 growout.Do you guys lay down eggcratr under your rock work?
I wanted to go bare but the rock being directly on the glass always freaks me out.
i had 2 bb tanks; one with black abs sheet on the bottom, and one without. Besides preventing scratches on the glass bottom, the abs provides easy, semi-rough surface for the corals to hold onto and spread. And imo, it looks much better than the reflective (glass) bottom.Do you guys lay down eggcratr under your rock work?
