So i'm thinking once my tank is fully cycled and I know it is, My stocking list is probably going to be
2x ocellaris clownfish
1x skunk cleaner shrimp
various types of snails and hermits
Green star polyps
Maybe a leather?
and a Pulsing Xenia.
sound good?
Defiantly will add more corals in the future but this is what im probably going to be stocking it with for the next 3-4 months introduce coral maybe 2 months after the clowns have gotten used to my tank
I wouldn't do anything defiantly.

I used the liveaquaria setting up a system schedule link and it work well. As one read though this article time is our friend in reefing a rushing things tends to cost a good deal of money.:)

I've always thought that frogspawn is an easy coral to get to grow so I don't see why it can't be a beginner coral

Candy cane, frogspawn, and Zoanthids are all plug and play. With frogspawns picture a frag of one maybe 2 heads will be a softball size piece in a year. Candy cane not much different.

Once its definitely been cycled and params stay stable Acan's are definitely doable. Also Zoanthids and Palythoa's are also a good starter coral. But even like sps some Zoa and Paly morphs are melters. All I keep is Acan's and Zoa's and in my 7 years of reefing (this isn't to scare you) but I have had so many different frags or Rasta's and Red/Yellow Hornets melt on me,with no idea why and finally found a frag that has held on and actually grown and thrived.

Acan's are easy to keep, just spot feed them at least 2-3 times a week (I normally feed once mid week and literally before or while I'm doing my water change and give them low-medium light and the same with flow. With a lot of flow they will get super puffy but that doesn't always mean healthy. Too much flow and you will know. They will shrivle up and look mad.

WWC Twizzlers.. I cannot keep to save my life or my tanks life lol. No idea why,had 4 frags and still no luck.

So just be patient and play things slowly and safely, don't overstock to quickly and let your tank adjust to the bioload of the tank or it'll be bad news bears.

That would be the idea, but if you're not able too that won't stop them from growing. I would assume if the colony is fed anything that it would still be better than nothing. I have no idea with the digestive system is shared thru the whole colony or if its only linked to each head ?!

I try to feed even the smallest heads to ensure even and fast growth, but once again thats just met. You will notice that if you only feed 1 head, they others if any are present will still be looking for food.

10 gallons is way too small for two clown fish! Even small ones.

My first coral was a duncan and it is still my absolute favorite. It loves BRS reef chili for food

I have had GSP'S in my tank for just over a month and it had gone crazy in my tank. I also have a temperamental umbrella leather and a pulsing xenia which has been in my tank for a year and hasn't done much as far as moving. My plays and polystyrene are doing great.

Just want to add in that you don't *have* to feed acans. They are photosynthetic. It can help them grow faster, and if they aren't looking well it can help. But, in general it's not needed. In a new tank, especially 10g, if you go crazy feeding stuff you will end up growing more algae than corals.

With acans, you don't have to feed every head.

Thanks for all the help guys!
No problem at all. Best of luck with what you decide to go with. Just remember it is all about feeding the zooxanthellae. Best time for photosynthesis is 10am & 5pm. Not what people say. Feed them with good light and phytoplankton. Research their flow preferred. I recommend a wave maker. Jebao or Tunze. It shakes the water back and forth rather than a direct constant flow on their mouth. Which would be very irritating if you think about it. Check for bugs before buying them and what is in the tank it is being sold in. If you see aiptasia on the frag or in the tank itself. As much as you love the frag. Love your tank more! Take care of your water always and enjoy. Be also aware of light shock. Going from super intense light from a MH to weak LEDs. Maybe be headache in the making(meaning dead coral/wasted money).

Should I start with acans then? I'm pretty scared of buying zoa's due to the toxin

If you are going to start with acans...they can be a little more expensive but I've found the larger "lord" acans are a bit hardier than some of the smaller-polyped ones. Just my experience.

Personally, I don't think I would start with acans. Maybe candy canes and/or some ricordia Florida mushrooms(forgot to suggest these, always do well in my tanks) and the frogspawn. Give them a couple weeks to see how they do and then grab an acan to try. Just my opinion though, I don't think there is a *right* way to do it. Many people have had success with different things in different orders.
