Good budget nano sps lights?

Silver. What im saying is. If you accept minimum as an acceptable standard. How can you be successful? Because once you start accepting minimum then your whole reefing life becomes a battle of minimum standards and you will never be truly happy.

Say for example,
Your mother goes out and buys a loaf of bread right
but she chooses the dollar loaf of bread over the bread right next to it for 50 cents more that has all the essentials to live a happy healthy. And the other bread for 1$ dosent, even tho she could have afforded it
She still went with the minimum standard.

You dont want to just scrap by and live unhealtly you want to thrive .

So do our fish and corals.

So why settle for minium?
Whats next jabao pumps and fluval skimmer

See my point exactly, minimum standards right from the horses mouth

Jabao retun pumps. Yes i agree are amazing.
The others ive burned through many over the years about $2k worth .
You will just learn the hard way.
When you go on vacation and come back to dead pumps. Been there done that.
Trust me ive tried the budget methodology it dosent work its a recipe for disaster. Your basically running on barrowed time.
Now i only use AI nero and ecotech MP's
Cause guess what when and if they ever break. I have a 3 year warantee. Jabao what 1 year max if they dont just tell you to F off when trying to return.

Ask fish of hex he will tell you simular story.

Everyone wants the cheapest options these days.
If you have to go with cheap. Then why are you bothering to put your animals at risk?
Just go to fresh water.

I dont mean to be an a** but if you cant afford a respectable heartbeat fro your tank why put the animals at risk in the first place. Makes 0 sense at all.
So whats next reef crystals. And api test kits what a laugh..

You guys make an impressive argument.
Now only if you spoke about the bad times you have had with these products. Not just blindly leading with all the good.

Pros vs cons brotha. Gotta show both not just a single side of it thats all sun shine and rain bows bro cmon. You know better.

Let’s take a step back here from beating dead horses guys and focus on helping the OP find a good budget nano light.

These types of discussions aren’t helpful for the OP or anyones blood pressure ;)

Despite all being used around water, Kessil and AI lights are definitely not water resistant or water proof either hahah
I lost two AI Hydra 32HDs during an accident where the single screw attached to the mount got lose whereas the Fluval marine nano light has an IPX rating of 7-8 I think so it won’t get its circuit fried in the case of an accident. Come to think of it, they should really seal these lights up since they’re surrounded by water 24/7 hahahah
I lost a radion xr30 pro... cousins came over and unscrewed it. Now only 1 led works

Did you call ecotech? For your xr30 to get fixed ? Or did youre cuz come over and start yanking wires lol.
Always call ecotech and send the light out before any famly member touches it.

They are not certified to handle high voltage light fixtures. Also may void your warantee if you even have one left on it depending on its generation.
If you have a gen 4 and are like my light is broken. Well yes ofcorse. If the company only warantee for 3 years only expect to get 2-3 years max out of it. Anything else is a act of god or you properly take apart and clean your lights every 2 months or so from dust. Otherwise kiss your resistors and motherboard bye bye. Esp so if you keep in an enclosed area or too close to water surface where it can get misted or splashed accidently from you or animal. The same can happen to any LED fixture.

There is a guy here who is certified and can fix your light no problem. And would still cost you less then spending for a new light every year or two.

Can’t really seal something up that requires airflow to stay cool. Primes already melt lenses as is.

This thread is hard to take seriously. Talking about expensive products like that makes a tank invisible….when Red Sea tanks are leaking and TM salt is tainted and Radions lights are losing sync and turning on in the middle of the night, UV diodes on them are typically the first to go.

It’s a small hobby and these expensive products are hardly as polished as say a smart phone or something. They have their own set of problems.

My XR15 G5 was replaced 2 times under warranty. lol
Now buy one of these Chinese lights and try and return it. I bet 100% you will never get a response. If you do it will be your fault and never get resolved.

Buy whatever light suits your fancy.
Just remember the ones on top are there for a reason.
For the reasons you just discribed.

Also lets touch on this 15 gal tank for a moment.
Whats its over all plan?
Just sps? What are you gonna do when these animals in 6 months have to be cut?

If you cant afford a decent light. How are you gonna afford another low boy. Or frag tank.
Your not. Your animals will suffer and you will watch them suffer and die.

Im just being real. We all have a diffrent opnion.

But the bigger picture and moving the hobbie foward is the goal.
Before we know it you will need a license just to have a fish tank. Because of carless handlers.

Best of luck to you all

Uhh not hat uncommon for people throw corals in the trash like Xenia and fast growing montis.

I just trade what I can to LFS.

I don’t think anyone needs a frag tank.

Its a g3 model and I tried but they couldn't do anything

Why do we have to deal with this once every few months??

Im glad you think throwing corals away is an acceptable practice. Like its not somthing that those of us who care about our animals dont frown apon. Because we do.

If you understand the animal your keeping, and respect and love them. Then why in the first place would you buy them knowing that you dont have the space to fully grow them out

Why would you risk it. A sensible person wouldnt. They arent some cat you can shove in a box with fancy feast.

They are living. Breathing animals.

You wanna commit genocide go for it.
I will have no part in it. You clearly lack the knolege or understanding and respect these animals deserve.
And no respect for them means no respect for anything.

Good day to you sir and good luck

Im just going to toss my 2 cents in. I have my experience with kessils, radions, black boxes and now Noopsyche. I run black boxes on my 180gallon main display and have a frag tank plumbed into that tank as well lit by brand new radion G4’s I bought a few years back. While the color of the tank achieved by my radions is superior to the black boxes (I use 6) both lights grow coral well and Color coral fine. what I observed was certain corals colored up better under each light while others colored up equally. My point above is that high end or budget friendly equipment both have pros and cons but both can lead to success given other parts of the hobby are maintained well. I just got my hands on the Noopsyche mini for my 15gallon cube and I am thoroughly impressed with the quality, spectrum and power. I would recommend this light for your tank. Colony photos are from the main display and frag Photos were grown in the frag tank. Both grow and color coral no matter what…

Black boxes would be a bit much for a tank my size. I'm not really using this light as my main light but I do need it as a supporting light. I still wanna incorporate my kessil A80
