Good Morning! I hope everyone is safe and well after all of the terrible storms this weekend. We got a foot of snow this weekend with lots more on the way. They are saying it will be a terrible year for snowmobiling with lots of avalanches. The news just seems to get better and better each day. I slipped and fell on the ice on Thursday and landed on my coffee cup and now have a huge bruise all over my waist. I couldn't get out of bed all weekend. I am feeling better now and hopefully I can start working on setting up my new tank this afternoon. My second job is trying to contact me and have me work more. I am getting much better at "loosing" my phone. The GM is going to Mexico this week. All I have to do is keep ducking her calls and I will have enough time off to finish it. What a fine bunch we are. I am finding the stay something like happy or healthy isn't working much at all. I am in fact having to work darn hard at it. Sometimes all you can do is hunker down, wait for it to pass and then put back together what you can. Perhaps turtles are smarter than we think. They have been around something like 250 million years or so
A few of my fished have passed. No idea why. I want paying attention and that may very well have been why. My right knee has gone south, cant climb stairs and something is loose in it. I watched more TV recently than the entire previous decade.
This is the part where I try to hold onto things and have no plans to make more. I thought that would come on slowly but it was more like a plane crash or getting hit square in the face with a baseball pitch. One minute you are fine and the next what the heck just happened and why am I laying here and cant move?
Rudy was sick as a dog because he is one but I made him some chicken and rice to eat for a few days and he seems better. To many fragile things around me now. Makes me nervous.

Try looking on Etsy. There are people with all sorts of stuff printed, including tank stuff. They may make one custom for you cheap

Gave away a bunch of frags for Christmas today and my overflow rack is empty. I can finally take it down, I thought to myself. Then I thought, hey, I have an empty rack in my tank that could be filled.

I’m sorry about the fish, and am also sorry that you’re having a difficult time overall. I’d like to pretend that 2021 never happened for many reasons.

Could Rudy have had pancreatitis? We’ve dealt with that with more than one dog. Chicken and rice helps, and so does having your family vet expertise! I hope for improvement for all.

Good Morning my Friends!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a good night last night. Only got hit with one MINOR headache about an hour after I fell asleep. Lasted about 15 minutes then I slept through the night, except for several “trips to the potty”, DANG PREDNISONE! LOL!
Storm cleanup is underway here in our area. I’m sure that by sun up, we will be hearing the chainsaws singing in the distance again today. We has ZERO damage on our land and surrounding area.
This morning, I get to go and talk to the imaging folks to find out what the heck is going on with this PET scan I’m supposed to be getting. They have been battling it out with our insurance to get them to pay but insurance keeps saying it’s “not a necessary procedure”. I need answers and we’re willing to pay out of pocket for the scan but I can’t get a definitive answer on $$$$$$. They are telling me it’s $384 out of pocket but last time (before I had coverage) it was more like $5K. Not an issue but I need to move money around to cover it if it’s that much.
Nuff whining about my problems!

How many remember ?

I remember those long distance calls well. When I got to Sydney Australia for R&R in 1971 I called home as there were no cell phones or computers then so it was 10 months since I spoke to my family.

I still have the bill. It was $57.00. In 1971 you could still get a cup of coffee for fifty cents so $57.00 was quite a bit of change.

And it took about 4 hours for the call to go through. It went all through Europe and I heard all the operators from those countries.

On my way home from Viet Nam the same year we stopped in Alaska for gas. I called from there and it was over $7.00 for a 2 minute call. Thats probably forty bucks today.

Upside, it's Friday for me. Downside, the lack of hot water has me more awake than usual at this hour. It's All in perspective, time to make a few pennies.
