I never had MH, but I miss the good ole' T5 fixtures...other than changing the bulbs. Those were expensive and a pain to change every 6-8 months. Stand is looking good!

Good morning! It's a bit nippy at -14 out here. There are a few flakes falling, but nothing to even think about. Hopefully we start getting snow soon. It's getting really bad out here. Fire season is going to be terrible if this doesn't change soon. Anyway, everything else is going good. We are having the busiest winter on record. I might have to ask for another raise soon. Good morning. Snowing today. We got more rain than snow yesterday so our totals went down from 12 to 7 inches. Still more than I like. Our daughter was supposed to work yesterday , 4 to midnight, but with the freezing rain called and said she wasn’t going to come in. (Works at an emergency vet clinic). She was told it’s her job and she needs to come in or get someone to cover her shift. Of course no one would work for her in an ice storm! So she tried to go in. She has had driver license for only 6 months and never driven in snow or ice so she was freaking out. Called us almost in tears saying her wipers were freezing to her windshield and she couldn’t see. We told her to screw that and turn around right now and go back to dorm room. Her life isn’t worth this job. And if they fire her , so be it. Her “job” is going to college not working for someone that doesn’t value your safety first. Thankfully she listened to us and went back.
 
Good morning. This morning I had to drive 45 minutes to a Doctor for a "pre Surgery" exam.

The hospital told me they will do all the major testing, X Rays, blood, MRI and dancing qualifications.

My Dr. just has to certify me to see if I am fit enough for surgery and probably won't croak on the table. Of course I am a perfect specimen in perfect health.

After going all the way there, they tested my blood pressure. "Thats it". I mean, is it me? Can't the hospital do that while I am sitting there for half a day getting blood tests, X rays, MRI's and signing up for a dance contest?

What a waste of time.

It reminds me of the time I went to the VA for an Agent Orange test. They did the same thing, tested my blood pressure. These people put a lot of faith in blood pressure.

Does that confirm Agent Orange problems or maybe they just got a new blood pressure tester from Amazon and they wanted to be able to rate it and put some stars under the description. :rolleyes:

My pods arrived, looking just fine! Whew. Heat pack was still warm, but I think they would have been ok anyway....unless the temperature was something crazy freezing. I have an order on autoship every so often with AlgaeBarn. Thank goodness we should be showing signs of spring when the next one is scheduled. I order them mainly for the possum wrasse in the BioCube, but I also add some to the refugium in the 90....the things I do for these fish! :rolleyes:

Yes it is. Another time I went to the VA for an Agent Orange test and that time, they also did a blood test so I felt at least they did something.

The next day I was driving and I get a call from the Doctor at the VA who took my blood. (I think she was about 16 or so but assured me she finished High School)

She told me to right to a hospital because I am going to have a heart attack. My potassium levels were through the roof (sort of like my tank) :rolleyes:

Of course telling someone that as they are driving may also not end well. So I went to a cardiologist who did some tests and he said I was fine.

I called the Dr. at the VA to tell her what the cardiologist said. She said, "Oh that happens all the time". We don't have a refrigerator so your blood sample sits on the window sill all night and it screws up the readings. :oops:

Again, is it me? :confused:

Of course it did....the heat pack had the swedish fish nice and warm!! I offered it to my husband. ;Hilarious

I missed the morning, so good afternoon everyone! Paul's story reminds me of something that happened to me recently. I had to do a take home colon cancer test. You do something disgusting and then mail it in. They called the next week while I was driving and said, "I have some unfortunate news about your test. When we ran your sample we discovered that (I almost drove off the road here) ......you waited too long to take it and the chemicals in the test had expired, so it needs to be done again." I told her that for these calls she absolutely needs to lead with, "I am not calling about the results" or maybe "don't freak out, nothing's wrong old man".

Of course I had been putting it off. Who wouldn't? It's been sitting next to the toilet for months with my wife saying, "don't be such a baby and get it done."
