Good Morning!

A in ground swim pool would be cool...Never seen one of those and sense your on a rant......What SALT would you recommend for it?

Another Petco thread. Sigh.
I would rather buy a fish at Petco than have one stuck in a bag and a then a box and sent through the mail to me.
I would really rather I had a decent LFS but I don't anymore.
The 2 LFS we visited recently make Petcos tanks look pretty nice. That is sad but it is what it is.
I have 3 tangs, 2 chromis, a clown and a file fish from Petco. No drama involved.

It does anger me that Petco is obviously pushing LA stock out to their stores. They now have large fish for sale when they stock nothing appropriate to care for them.
A rant and $2 will get you a cup of coffee.

Same as it ever was.

I did retail for 17 years. The thought of trying to sell live things to the general public sends shivers down my spine. Many people cant take care of their children much less a fish, hamster, dog or cat.
Being successful in a small business requires 2 skills. Business and the ability to do whatever you are selling. Most people don't even have 1 thing they are good at these days.
I clearly don't like Petco or Pet smart or any online livestock retailer with the exception of those who grow their own or breed. I have watched the demise of local business for to long and hope the new tax laws will give the local stores a new chance to thrive. That said I am not holding my breath! Mass retail and livestock is such a mistake!

Good morning

Good morning everyone! Going to need extra coffee today. Analyzing inconsistencies between 6 similar databases to one consolidated 1. [emoji42]

I used to run one of these overnight for Eastern American Energy. It ran accounting databases for oil and gas lease royalties. I had to feed the printers and sling 1/2 inch tape reels.

All from my laptop! :) Thank god. My oldest brother did some programming with the punch cards. I used to to stone and tradework for almost 12 years then went back to school and now I sit all day and code.

No punch cards
100s of reels of magnetic tape every night. I did database backups and loaded programs for production which is what the people that worked in the daytime were called.
I did this working 6 days a week at night and went to school during the day. It ran a version of Unix called Ultimate in 3 virtual machines.

Man I could only imagine how crazy that must have been. I would imagine that the reels were fairly sensitive. The first job I had in IT they used physical backup tapes. Switched daily. Now we have our backups run every 15 minutes stored on a server. Even the servers can be launched on a virtual machine as a contingency plan to prevent down time.
