Good Morning!

Good morning reef buddies. I feel like crap today. I'm at a crossroads with my job. I been on a 7 year 65 to 80 HR a week pace that starts at 3am. It includes 4 hours a day of commuting. It has treated my bank account well but my body not so much. Oops no crying in reefing. Hope everyone has an awesome day. WC and breakfast are the next two events this morning.
Listen to your body mate ,you only have one ,and all that money is no good if you are 6 feet under

It's not raining, I don't believe it. We are heading out with our BFFs on the boat this morning to a secluded lagoon to lay in the water like tea bags as we are all retired and can do that. :D

In the 5 mph zone we will drag a plankton net to see if there are any amphipods, tiny fish or Godzilla larvae hanging around. On the way back I have a copepod net to drag behind. All good junk to throw in my tank.

The boat is stocked with cases of beer, wine, Champagne and Vodka so you are all invited. The boat leaves my dock on Long Island in 20 minutes. Don't be late. :D

We also bring this to impress any Supermodels. The boat not me.

You can see how I swim so fast. I have a tiny outboard engine sticking out of my butt :p

I told work they need to be careful when I hit a year and the strain was effecting my physical and mental health as well as my family's. That was only after a year. 7 is insane. I asked my CIO if I was producing enough. He said I was great so I asked "what's the problem then?" He said none. I told him I was going back to 40-45. I was burnt out. Plus my salary was negotiated off of 40-45 with occasional overtime. We're good now! It felt great to get Sunburn and be part of Knobles, a theme part up my way. What's the point if you can't live. No one should have to work that hard for that long. If you are building your own business, ok yeah, but for someone else to expect that of you is ridiculous. 20190623_143706_HDR.jpeg 20190623_182208.jpeg

Unfortunately 45 hrs week isn't an option. I agree with you though. I went to bed an hour ago and I'm up yet exhausted. Can't sleep knowing the pain tomorrow is coming.

Evening everyone! Sorry I've been quiet today, it was my little girls 7th birthday party. Brats, burgers, beer and family. Theres no better combination :)

Good morning friends. Started and finished all house 'field day' and tank stuff...off to ride my H-D Road King Classic in a few minutes.
Just finished a short ride on my old BMW. Great day for a ride!

Looks like a great way to spend the day, have fun.

Yeah, but it's another great day so I have to do it all over again today. :)
This retirement is tough. I have to have fun every day and only do the things I want to do. I almost remember that I used to have to go someplace every morning on a crowded train, then spend the day on top of some half built building in Manhattan, then get on that train and come home so I could do it all again the next day. Then my boss would throw some money at me.

Now, they still throw money at me, but for some reason I don't have to do anything that doesn't involve boats, fishing, sleeping, hanging out with friends, playing with my fish or putzing in my workshop.

Occasionally I go to the Hamptons and sometimes see Christie Brinkley and I wave to her. She just puts her finger down her throat like she is choking but I think that is a term of endearment. :D

This is really effecting my mode of living, and my carbon footprint. But somebody has to do it. :D
