i used to think we were the Alien food herd, visited in prehistoric times and told to expect the great gathering of the worthy so that we. would not bolt when the ranchers arrived to harvest their herd.
pretty sure that is in error...right?

When I was a kid, I would wonder if we were actually just some alien kids science project. I'd give him / her a B+.

Bought a really inexpensive misting system for the henhouse at Lowes, only $25.
We have 2 box fans mounted to blow in on hot days but when the sun is directly over the henhouse, the fans just blow in hot air. I’ve been running the sprinkler out there to cool the air being drawn in. All that does is flood the area.
I mounted the misters over the openings facing down. They make a very fine mist and the fans draw in in. Of course, it’s raining and cooler now.

Good morning! Y'all have been busy the last few days! Work has been kicking me in the hiney. Two more months of this nonsense and change is coming...not sure exactly what yet, but it's coming! Lots going on around here the last few days. I'm not working one second of overtime this weekend and am looking forward to 3 whole days off!

Good Morning Friends and Fishy Fam!

The son in law just got a job offer - double the pay. Looks like they will be working on that grandbaby next year now.
This is a career that I have groomed and mentored him in since he was a lost kid grieving the passing of his mother. To see him have this success just warms my heart, he worked incredibly hard to get there.

It also tells me with certainty that I do not want the job that I have on the table. I'd take less money for more responsibility and to mentor the next generation. My priorities are not what they used to be. Time to step off of the podium and shine that light on someone else. For now, I am going to stay put.

New DT is looking good so far. Looks like most everything survived the jump. The only casualties appears to be my torch (sorry @Wen) and Chernobyl - Sleeper Goby. The torch lost one head the first night - no sign of it returning yesterday, the other is struggling - not sure why as all of the other corals bounced back quickly. I guess it's just not "euphyllian" it.
Chernobyl has not been seen since right after it went into the tank. He was also on the thin side, which does not add up given how he would go after food. Hoping that he is just hiding ... but he has not come out for food. Otherwise, everybody is alive and zoas are thriving. Going to prep the other tank to QT that bubble coral this weekend.

Headed to the hospitals to visit two old (but young) friends. Everybody stay healthy. Hugs your kids and stay safe over the weekend. God bless....

I'm glad you're finding closure with your job situation.

My tank transfer about 8ish years ago was one of the worst experiences ever! It took 5 people and plenty of blood, swear, and tears (and water). I didn't have huge tanks either. I went from a 46 to my current 90. I ended up losing one fish and several corals. We had everything in heated rubbermaid tubs (EVERYWHERE). It was a gigantic mess! I'm glad I did it because I love my 90, but no more tank transfers for me!

We won't quite have the small army, but will have the one son and his family (living with us for now). I'm hoping for some baby back ribs. Son lives to grill, thank goodness!!! Hmmm, potato salad sounds good. Maybe some baked beans. Cornbread. Meal is planned! Just like that! Now to put son to work on making it happen...
