Good morning! It's a cool, rainy October Sunday in the south, which means beef stew is in the crockpot. My alma mater won last night for the first time in Death Valley since 1999, so Saturday ended on a good note! I scoped out the WWC live sale a bit yesterday, but their sales always draw a ton of people so I don't bother trying to snag corals during the actual sale part. I may check out the aftersale and see if they have any leftovers I want.

Crazy rain, booming thunder and one heck of a light show going on here right now. All cats are crammed under the bed and the hens are all huddled up in the coop. Hen house has a metal roof and it gets real noisy in there when it rains hard.
Off to Tractor Supply for chicken food and bales of pine this morning then watch some football starting at noon.

I did get a new look a like utter chaos paly colony yesterday. So to say I am very happy with it!

still looking for someone to hunt with tomorrow morning as my old/new employer gave me the day off.
watching the most entertaining football in the NFL later.
that would be the Detroit Lions who always find new and exciting ways to snatch defeat from the hands of victory.

Pouring here, too! I was sitting under the covered part of the deck with my coffee....I enjoy the rain when the conditions are just right. It was great until it started raining sideways o_O....covered deck didn't help then. I hope the henhouse does ok!

Looks like the rain has past, for now anyway. Hen house stayed dry this time. Last time, the ground was so over saturated, the water had no place else to go but under the barn.
Watching the Titans play the Jets right now. Titans playing like amateurs right now.

when i replaced the furnace/AC there was a dehumidifier function that you could set. i turned off the portable Dehumidifier unit that i had in the basement and the humidity stayed under 40%. lately the walls seem a little sticky so this morning i checked on the thermostat for the humidity level. 70%!! seems the function is only functional during cooling. oops, i guess i was shortsighted in giving away the portable unit. i turned the AC on and down to 70 deg. but that is not a long term solution so i went to the orange box store and bought a 50 pint GE unit and put it in the basement. initial reading is 75% RH. and a way we go!
was thinking last night about riding up to Lake Ontario this morning for a swim but would have been wet all the way there so, no. enjoy the weekend for the rest of it!

I'm glad the henhouse held up! The Titans didn't hold up so well....:(. I thought they just might pull it out in OT, but nope.
