Good Morning!

Good Morning! It's been busy around here. Sales are finally going up for the first time in the winter after 5 years of declining. The owners think I actually know what I'm doing. Boy are they in for a surprise.
It's a balmy 8 and foggy this morning. There is a slight chance of snow tomorrow with no expected accumulation. I guess this means maybe 2 feet? I guess I know more of what I'm doing than the weatherman, unless you look at it as who is better at faking their job.
Have a great day and stay safe!

Morning All!
Actually supposed to get out of the 20’s today and climb above freezing. Maybe I’ve been holding my compass upside down all these years. I thought this was the south. Cold ain’t stopping me though. I was out at daybreak installing the drop steps on the Jeep. MUCH easier entry and exit now.
Im sulking today because the Titans totally blew it yesterday against the Bengals. They did manage to sack the Bengals QB NINE times though. I’ll bet that guy is sore today!
Time for some tank maintenance and once it warms up a little, the Escape is going to the coin op car wash to blast some of the salt spray off of it.
Y’all have a wonderful Sunday!

In the late 80s we had a high of 5 for about a week in northern Louisiana. Speaking of the QB for the Bengals, he was the QB for the greatest college team ever. He was the 3rd string QB at Ohio St and transferred to LSU. We were all blessed to be able to listen to Coach O give interviews. THe man sounds like he smoked a case of cigars and drank a gallon of moonshine everyday. With the thick Cajun accent.

Good Morning! indulged in a little football yesterday, no guilt today , lol. snow is falling here too, need to feed the birds, if i combine that with rolling the trash to the street, that will get me my excursion outside for the day. I hope your day is as exciting!

We made it home yesterday just in time for the 2nd half. ;Meh The Titans definitely blew it. J. Burrow is a great QB, though. Did I mention that I was born in Baton Rouge, almost on the side of the road during an LSU football game?? A bit of grammie trivia for you. Coach O always sounds like he's been gargling rocks...is he coaching anywhere now?

Not that I know of. He is a terrible head coach. Got lucky with Burrows and a Saints Offensive Coordinator. I loved going to LSU games. Baton Rouge is crazy. State capital and a large college. My family is from the area. My grandparents lived in Baker and my Aunt still lives in Livingston. I was scared for the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge as a kid.

Good morning! We made it home safely...after sprinting through the Atlanta airport yesterday. At least I got in my exercise. We were supposed to have a 2-hour layover. Nope. Plane showed up in Fort Lauderdale about the time we were supposed to have already landed in Atlanta! Oops.

Our trip was such a hard decision....do we stay?....do we go?....what are we supposed to do??? We finally decided if the ship sailed, we were going to be on it. We had to have our all-important little white card and also have proof of a negative test 2 days before sailing. It was a tough decision under the current circumstances, but we're so glad we went!

Fortunately, the local son/wife kept my frag-stealing urchin at bay. I saw plenty of his cousins while snorkeling! I moved the frag rack up a few inches and those frags should be ready to glue to the rock in another few weeks. Our nurse daughter-in-law is the only one who has passed the mag-float test, and it was so nice to come home to clean glass! It would have taken forever to clean the glass after being gone 10 days...

The pond behind our house had a thin layer of ice this morning, so I'd say it's been cold around here! Time to put the shorts and flip-flops away for a few months. ;Meh

Back to work reality tomorrow. I do have a meeting with my boss and her boss this week. Hopefully, the end result will be changing my status to part time. :)

Baton Rouge is a crazy place! We just lived there a few years when I was young, but coming from an SEC college, I've watched plenty of scary football games in Tiger Stadium!

Good morning! The weather has been crazy this winter. We are half way up Florida, so it usually gets sort of cold here for a while (in the low 40's). It has stayed in the 70's all winter so far and amazingly we have some peaches ripening on our tree that thought December was spring and bloomed. But, even though it never, ever snows here we had some flurries last night and this is usually the end of our "winter". I wonder what will happen this summer.

do you grow pineapples?
when mom and dad lived across the state from you in stuart dad cut the crowns off the store bought pineapples and planted them in miracle grow. he eventually had six going that produced great pineapples.

I occasionally see people doing this, but we don't. Some people do bananas. Our neighbor has huge avocado and star fruit trees. We get a lot of those as a result. If you have never had star fruit, don't bother. Really bland. Of course, there are lots of people with orange and grapefruit trees. Also a lot of mango and papaya trees. When we walk our dogs we can just pick up a few from people's front yards because there are always plenty on the ground that will get thrown out.

Every once in a while I try to plant all of my veggies and fruit I buy. I had a 10 inch avocado tree once. That was the most success other than garlic cloves for chives. They sell live herbs in the stores here. I bought them and tried to plant. They are invested with bugs so you can't grow them.

When we lived in Miami, we had an avocado tree that produced the large "Florida" avocados and a lime tree. We also had a HUGE mango tree in the backyard. People used to come by with long poles with a net at the top to "borrow" our mangos, which was okay because they were scattered all over the yard!
