So I’m 3 months in after moving my tank from friends house to mine using 75% of his water. I have done 6 40% water changes because. My nutrients have been crazy high.
Ammonia 0
Ph 8.29
Nitrates 50 ppm
Phos .72
And I’m starting to get a little hair algea from the window but I’m also getting this bright green and spotty what looks like red and pink spots on the rocks is. This coralline? Or just bad algae

vid or pic doesnt work. maybe post on youtube

iPhone/Mac .mov files seem to give Windows users fits.
You can convert to .mp4 in iMovie and/or switch the video settings on your iPhone to save in .mp4 format (depending on iPhone age).

Most people seem to post to YouTube and link to that with good results.

EDIT -- oops,,, see you just did YouTube link,,, disregard

if those phosphates numbers are correct that is way too high and i'm surprised you don't have a bigger issue with GHA
Haha that’s nothing my nitrates were through the roof I couldn’t even get a proper reading on my Hanna tester stay at blinking 75 ppm for a wile. I finally got that down to 50... phos was at 2.5 now it’s down in the .70s. These are improvements. Some say it was because I reused my friends substrate he had for 7 years. I think it’s because I boiled out all the fire worms from the live rock so what ever was left after the boiling and me picking out pieces of worm . The left over worm tangled in the rock I couldn’t reach and pick out had to stay in the rock. With that being said I think my nutrients are improving after 3 months Of battling.

What type of filtration? If you get your parameters in check the coraline will replace the green slime slowly. How much sun does it get? Peroxide and nutrient control will help. Good luck
not much sun i blocked out the windows, im using a sum with refugium

I watched the video. It's green algae. No chemicals. They cause other problems later on. Get your nitrates and phos lower with water changes. If the green starts to get long, remove the rock, scrub it out of water with a brush, rinse with saltwater (from a water change) and replace back into tank.

So what you’re saying is that bright green algae is actually green hair algae or are these two different types of algae and should I be worried about one more than the other
