Always good to cross out any possibility but with 6 stage and change outs on media should be good. I know with ma water I get a little less than what I should gallon wise thru mine before needing to replace.
Just nutrient control as Lasse was saying walking that line to get the balance on each issue. Wish you luck getting it under control

I think Your tank looks very good. If You just adjust Your values to have the "good algae" growing and outcompeting the others You can control them with a clean up crew. They did starve earlier without the food.

I'll bet urchins would eat that rock algae. I have a "decorator" urchin who cleans algae, and he helps me out in other ways - if I drop a frag in the rocks where I can't find or get it, it inevitably ends up on the urchin. When it comes out to the front, I peel the frag off it, and glue it back on the rock. This has happened about five times. I love that little guy. My 90 gallon had a lot of algae/diatoms. I got a couple of huge Turbo snails, four or five hermits (with lots of spare shells they can use), some smaller snails and a big brown tang. There is NO algae on the rocks now. I've also noticed that big, red knobby sea stars eat diatoms. I've got two in my "oddball" tank, and they suck diatoms off the glass. They do not bother corals.

So how goes battle algae? Have you made progress or still looking for a local LFS test does service to be recomended?
Hope it’s looking better it took time but my algae issue is clearing so it can be done give a shout
