Those clams are amazing looking!!! Our LFS has some very nice specimen and are like $50-$100 cheaper than some online dealers right now. I am going to go take another look at them again today. I so want one but I have to catch my Majestic Angel out of the tank 1st.

The locals harvest 10000lbs anually for food and that is weight with out the shell. Our hobby will make very little to any impact on them. Soon they will be aquacultered.

I believe these are harvested with size restrictions. Only 5" and up may be harvested...

I have 2 Tuamotu's arriving today!!! So excited!!!

It's my understanding that the area was decimated by a typhoon in January (or somewhere around there) and a very large majority of the clams that were collected for shipping were lost. A local vendor made a contact over there and was able to get a few of the only ones that they had left. I am beyond excited to have been able to get these clams!!!
